ESC Resistance

I have one esc that has a lot of resistance. (I made sure it was the esc and not the motor by swapping out)

The resistance causes the motor to stop instantly (like an electronic breaking) when the throttle is moved to the bottom while the other motors spin down slowly to a stop.

Is it time to replace or could it be something else?

Thanks for the explanation!

Still not sure what was going on. I went ahead and replaced them with Afro 30s, and flashed them with blheli, and now my hex is rock solid :)
