Custom LED question

I'm thinking about putting running lights on my 250, to help with Los orientation.

My question is can I wire them in with the pdb and run them on battery voltage, or should I run them off of the 5v from one of my esc's output? I would run the front ones off of one of the front esc's and the back ones off of one of the back esc's

It depends what you buy. Many are 12V, so power them with battery voltage if you are using 3S.

Ones like these can be cut into whatever length you want.

Just as Jakson said, it depends what you get, I have some color changing ones I wired to DIP switch and the PDB. I suggest you get the indoor/outdoor, AKA waterproof ones because they have a rubbery protection for the LEDs and SMD components and are a lot easier to work with. When soldering make sure you are using a clean tip and iron that is plento hot enough to get it soldered and get the heat off.

I might look into something like that, I just have an assorted box of 300 China LEDS at home, I'm thinking they are only 5v, when I get home from work I'll do some testing
