Cell Phone Attached to Remote Controller. Yes? Now What?

I just took delivery of an XKX 300 quadcopter. There is a piece included that is intended to be attached to the remote controller so that a cell phone can be held in it.

How is a cell phone intended to be used with a quadcopter? Am I supposed to download some kind of app? Does it have something to do with wi-fi? I have no idea and, of course, the "instruction" manual is totally silent on the matter - it doesn't even show me how to attache the cell phone holder to the remote control.

It acts as a "First Person View" screen instead of the screen that comes with the "F" model..............
I didn't get the F model. Mine cost $98.00. I think the F model costs $146.00. I didn't know what I was doing when I ordered - just wanted to get the cheapest one I could consistent with being a basically good starter model. I think I did get a good one - a very good one. But I'm thinking now, they didn't leave anything out of the box. The cheaper model I got simply doesn't come with an FPV screen. Oh well.

I just read that controlling the craft can be done in one of two ways. Either by a dedicated controller or use of a cell phone/controller app (that uses wi-fi). I sincerely hope I have a dedicated controller. If so, then I can fly without the cell phone, right? Would you happen to know if I have a dedicated controller? You seem familiar with the XKX line of quads.

Learning more by the minute. My exact model is an XKX 300-W. It is manufactured by XK (China) and is available through Gearbest on the Web. Best of all, I found an excellent video that is going to help me a lot in making my first flight. This is the basic video for my exact model (The W model, not the F model). If you want to take a look at my New Baby, here it is: http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_581314.html

From watching this, I gather (1) I can fly the quad using only the remote controller or (2) I can attach the cell phone for a FPV or (3) I can fly the quad without the remote controller at all, using only my cell phone. The video tells the name of the app. I have it installed on my iPhone6 as we speak.

I may be getting closer to that first flight than I originally thought. Now, I have to find a good location. I live very close to the Rose Bowl, which is surrounded by large, clear, grassy areas. Big concert there this weekend, however.
