Caught in the act of stupidity?

I saw the whole thing. My opinion is the cops stuck their foot in a pile and were trying to figure out whose pant leg they were going to wipe it on. "We're detaining you for absolutely no reason, unless you count not buy us a box of Crispy Cremes...".

Having watched a few of these I'm still not decided on if the police are in the pocket of the local big business or if this guy is just starting trouble or a little of A and a little of B.
Here is what I would have done:
1. Take off my sun glasses.
2. Look the officer in the eye.
3. Ask why I was stopped.
4. Present ID if asked.
5. If the officer said I was flying over private property. I would have the proper paperwork for my drone. Based on my situation. 107 or not.
6. Show the officer that local and state authorities do not have legal rights over where I fly my drone.

As per my previous post.
Congress has provided the FAA with exclusive authority to regulate aviation safety, the efficiency of the navigable airspace, and air traffic control, among other things. State and local governments are not permitted to regulate any type of aircraft operations, such as flight paths or altitudes, or the navigable airspace.

However, these powers are not the same as regulation of aircraft landing sites, which involves local control of land and zoning. Laws traditionally related to state and local police power – including land use, zoning, privacy, and law enforcement operations – generally are not subject to federal regulation.

After that I would tell the officer that the red vehicle that was following me was driving erratically while talking on the cell phone and I feared for my safety and I am glad he pulled me over.

ArmyVet that would've been the best approach as I've had positive results stating what I know to be law.

The police probably aren't up on "drone laws" and acting intelligent usually works in your favor

If the po po thinks you're breaking fed law they can legally hold you until they contact big brother.

I have to wonder how big of a holes the guys with the drone were flying over property. That could also bring into question privacy laws lol.

The point is if you are flying the drone legally according to the FAA. Privacy does not come into play. I am not a lawyer, butt.

I know you can sit in the public street and take pictures of someone's house all day long. The home owner is not given any expectation of privacy by the law.

To my way of thinking how is that different than 400 feet up in a drone?

Anyway, the guy in the video was already on the defensive and looking for trouble. I do respect his concern for animals.

Just my humble opinion.

The problem with a police officer is that he thinks he is God and you can't tell God what to do. Show him your ID when asked. Have we seen the recent glut of cops arresting people (some times shooting them) simply because they questioned why the cop wants to see their ID? Just show it, you're less likely to be wrestled to the ground put in cuffs or even worse, shot to death. Cops often shoot first then ask you why you are doing something. Why test that theory?

Show him your ID when asked.
"Stop and identify" statutes are statutory laws in the United States that authorize police[1] to legally obtain the identification of someone whom they reasonably suspect of having committed a crime. If there is no reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed, is being committed, or is about to be committed, an individual is not required to provide identification, even in "Stop and ID" states.

Should have just showed it & said yeah we're checking up on so what.
They don't own the airspace around the property. If they are legit they could show the flight path & disprove the lying a-holes on the site. Just a normal stop & search then they can whistle.but seen as they where checking a facility out then it's a fair cop guv.

Moz, you from G.B.? The cops in the USA are more paranoid. Messing with them can only get you killed.
My maa (mum) says Ringo star could be my aal man. Lol it ain't great. It's a mess.
I watch state side current events, more than our own fake news. Because its less depressing than watching the clowns running this country. If it's not RC or something funny then I do like to keep up with what's going on regarding Russia.
Some shady ppl about.
Nuff said. But yes your police have a right to be. The gun situation is a hard one.
In my perfect world, no guns.
But there is that many in circulation or avenues to aquire them that it would only be the criminals left with them.
Teachers need more training if kids are going to be on some of these medications they are given. Apart from sleeping school is where most of daytime is spent.
Class sizes are too big (everywhere) teacher can't cope or watch everybody.
Now I'm babbling again.

Honesty never seen him before.
Why didn't he come to Liverpool the actual high gun crime area of the country.
them southerners like it messy using knives & acid these days for some reasono_O. Sick.
A 3 year old baby was attacked with acid just the other day. This only been happening in the last ten years or so.
It was unheard of. Bad boys bad boys
Its funny but not something I'd watch.
Better things to be doing. To be honest I mainly listen as I'm tinkering. Spend half hr on each channel or a bit of YouTube.
The only thing I have watched consistently is game of thrones.
Apart from the bazongas of Natalie dormer there is some real history mixed in this, I don't mean dragons.
The red wedding actually happened in Scottish history. I know my history but I think everybody else is doomed to repeat it. :p I'm just along for the ride.
