Bought a cheap one to use as a learning tool. Every time it lifts off it flies forward. I've tried doing as Holystone suggest to change this habit but no matter what I push, pull, click it keeps flying forward.

Suggestions please.

Suggesting I buy a different make / model will not be helpful.

Thanks.

does your quad have alt hold and gps? my first cheap learn to fly was a syma x5 totally manual all over the place had to be on it all the time I almost gave up I then got a syma x25 pro great learner alt hold gps can fly one handed I still fly both but bought a p3 for serious stuff as the cameras are small in the symas but good learners

Complete Model number and pictures would help.

Are you using the Controller/transmitter or the app on a phone to control the quad?? Does it do the same on both?

If it only happens on one then that should give you a clue where the problem is.

Good Luck.

Just the supplied transmitter.

Holystone emailed me some basic suggestions. I'm snow bound right now following the winter storm that blew through so other things to take care of before drone time.

Ok. If you get a chance and feel comfortable with it try the app.

Good kuck

Have you run thru the calibration procedure?

Try the Syma way. Hold the sticks in the corners till the lights stop blinking.

I have done the calibration and gyro reset dozens of times and gthe bloody thing still flies forward as soon as it takes off with no control available from the right stick at all.

Will be asking for a full refund if they don't come back with a fix for this.

If it's just drifting, it can usually be corrected by using the trim buttons. But the fact that it doesn't react at all to right stick input tells me that it's defect. Unless they sent you a Mode 1 controller in error. Don't suppose it will go forward and back from left stick input?
