Blade RTF MQX receiver antenna

Anonny

Another pathetic sheep following the herd
My Blade flies pretty decent generally but if I let it get more than 30' away Ithaca a mind of its own, I looked to see it the antenna was damaged and can't find one at all.

Here's a photo I grabbed off the Internet of the control board and it looks like that red wire (bottom right) could be the antenna

And here's my board,

Again bottom right with the arrow pointing where it looks like it should be?
The hole is clean so I don't think there was ever anything there.

I'm comfortable with soldering but am looking for suggestions on if I'm barking up the right tree and what wire size and length would work for me?

Many toy quads just have an ungrounded insulated piece of wire for an antenna. Length should be about 31mm. Wire gauge is not that critical, what and that easily fits in the whole should be fine. It is odd that there is nothing to be seen.

I did see this, kinda looks like an antenna. But from the pic of the replacement board there is red stub showing right by your arrow. I would try there.

Excellent! The range tripled at least. Was hoping it woul help with binding issues as well because I have to try about 10 times before I get a successful bind but it didn't change a thing in that department. Guess there's only so much you can ask for in the toy grade.
