Right heres a challenge for all you experts out there.

upgrading the quad to the following and have a couple of questions at the end, if anyone can help?

Tarot Ironman 650
Pixhawk Px4 or Naza M V2?
Emax 4in1 30amp Esc
Emax MT3510 600v
PPM encoder for pixhawk as i have a Turingy IA10

questions are, will the IA10 work with Pixhawk using the Encoder?
on the encoder will i be able to feed from ch 7 on TX to ch 5 on encoder as TX is setup up in quad mode and channel 7 is the attitude channel (fixed in by turnigy)
currently use Apm 2.6 but recommended Naza but have no experience? Pixhawk or Naza?

think thats it for now, really appreciate your time in helping me out

Cheers Billy

Hi mate the Naza M is really good fitted to all the phantoms , easy to set up and update ,GPS works really well fail safes are top notch its not cheap because its good , you could look for a smashed phantom and buy it for the Naza M
standard on the Naza is Course lock,Home lock , attitude hold , IOC mode ,Return home and land, manual mode , full Gps mode
you can park this quad in the sky and it will stay there till the battery runs down and it autos lands

FWIW Ringlong (and others) swear by this.

This is the new tarot system I cant say any thing on this as I have not used it but like Jackson said a few of the guys on here say its really good , its a lot cheaper I would go for it

thanks guys, I've been reading up on the tarot and there are lots of very positive reviews but also a few on the products not working out of the box, is suppose for £80 you can't grumble to much.

this morning i was set on the NAza, now I'm having second thoughts.... bugger!

Nice frame choice. The Tarot is an awesome flight controller for the money. The last I knew guys were having trouble if you are in flight, and drop the throttle below 10% while in flight. I never had an issue, but others have. Most just set the throttle to stay above 10% while flying.

Here is a video where I had mine installed on my 680.

Wow, that looked the business, I've taken the plunge and ordered this morning, what camera do you have on your 680? the quality is excellent!
ill let you know how i get on with the ZYX-M but thought it was worth a go and if it comes to it i can also get the Naza later on. thanks guys.

I was using a gopro 3 black in this video. You will not be disappointed in the zxy-m. It is a really good flight controller for the cost.

What motor/prop combination are you planning on installing?

Ive gone for the Emax MT3510 600v and 12.40 carbon props pretty much followed HK list of compatible equipment. I've also gone for a max 4 in 1 esc 30 amps per arm as it keeps the quad tidy but if I'm honest thats the only part I'm not 100% on so might have to invest in 4 esc but ill see how i get on.

what resolution did you use on you Gopro?

Hi Ringolong, just reading through the manual and i can see where, how of if i need to calibrate the esc's any info you could give me would be really helpful as theres not a lot on the web for this FC.

cheers Billy

Hi Ringalong, just wondering what gimbal you use? i have a fey tech 3d mini and really not happy with the results, have seen some great feedback on the Zhiyun Z1 Tiny 2? but thought id see what you were using before taking the plunge?

cheers Billy

Just a comment on the ZYX-M. I've seen this with many products, where you have a thread on a huge forum (I can think of one that the ZYX-M thread is 260 pages) and a few guys have problems and all of a sudden the product is crap. When you think about it, if they've sold 100,000 units and 20 guys have problems, chances are pretty darn good you'll get one that works just fine. And I'm wondering what percentage of DOA units are actually "user error"

You might be OK with a 650 but I got the Emax 4 in 1 ESC unit today and there's no way it will fit on the build I'm doing with a U580 frame. If you haven't got yours yet and want to do some measurements, here's the dimensions: 65mm X 70mm X 20mm. Plus you have to account for another 20mm X 20mm for the caps sticking out the side. Funny how parts look so much smaller when you get them than they look online. Not the 4 in 1, it's ginormous. Guess I'll just have to get a 900 class frame to mount it on. hahaha

I agree. Most of this hobby is user error.

I have helped a few over there who thought they had defective units, but I have only seen one issue that we could not figure out. (It still could have been user error, or something we were missing since it was over pm)

I've had nothing but good experiences with the zyx-m. I used it on a few builds. Once you get used to a certain FC (I) tend to stick with it. I'm also building an Ironman 650 at the moment. Just for fun really. She's a biggy with 15" props ;)
