Hi Guys,

http://www.menkind.co.uk/sky-drone-v2
Had the above quad for a month or so now and wanted to get a larger battery for it. The current one is 1000mAh 7.4V

I have been doing a bit of research and decided to purchase a slightly uprated battery 1500mAh 7.4v from the below website.
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/wl-toys-1500mah-lipo-7.4v-battery-for-wave-runner/rc-car-products/387930

although it doesnt say that it is for the sky drone pro, it does indeed fit (just) and works.
The fitting also fits the charger fine.

However I am yet to give it a full charge, and wanted to make sure that this battery will be fine to charge with the current charger i have. (not sure on the whole 2c, 1c stuff at the moment)

Below are some pictures of the old battery, the new battery and the charger.

Thanks in advance.

It should work. It will take a little longer to charge as the charger is likely providing lower current, but the fastest you should charge a LiPo is around an hour(1C which is amps=1*Ah), add a little bit of time for efficiency loss.

I'm looking to get a battery with a bigger capacity than the 1000maH one supplied. Does anyone know what the C rating (discharge rate) should be for the battery for the mtech sky drone v2. I was told by someone on ebay that 15C is not enough, and that I should look for a 20C up to 25C. I've seen batteries rated as 20C with 30c peak (for 10 seconds or so). Would this be a suitable rating? Can anyone shed any light on this. Also what batteries are good? Branded (Floureon or Turnigy or ???) or just bog-standard Chinese stuff from ebay. Can anybody advise where to get good batteries from and what C rating?

Should be fine.

I use Floureon, the construction looks good, they seem fine but I don't have anything to compare them too.

Would this be any good for a quadcopter ..'FLOUREON 2S 7.4V 1000mAh 20C JST Plug Li-Po Battery' ie no peak of 30C specified??

I purchased the battery you said fits yours (just) but I have no room for wires to fit in what did you have to do to make them fit?
