A450 Quadcopter Build - Build Thread

I don't see the POS pin. I may be blind. Will you circle which pins it in on the KK2 board for me using this picture? Thank you!

Hi mate sorry its the kk2.0 can only solder to the board , make sure you flash this with 1.6v its much better on stable mode with 1.6
Sorry my fault was thinking you had the kk2.1.5

I tried this and this did not work. Here is how I connected it:

M1 = UBEC
M2 = ESC #2
M3 = ESC #3
M4 = ESC #4
M8 = ESC #1

KK board turns on with a white screen, but no text on the display.

Hi mate ok here we go , its not a real kk its look like a clone of the kk2.1.5 thats why it is black, but dont worry, on the board to the right near the top up have a red plug with the word bat just above it, plug a link lead to the battery this will watch battery voltage once set up
Motor one plugs in on m1 pins this is the only esc that will power the board , then motor 2 on m2 etc
Then load motor lay out and you should be up and running now

Ok thank you! Regardless, I still think that my KK board is messed up. Since I don't have enough cables to complete it right now, I hooked up the UBEC directly to my KK board and it's just showing white screen, no text. Do you think that it's messed up as well? Or do I need to actually hook it all up correctly until I can get the text on my board?

What if I have a voltage alarm? How do I hook that up?

Hi mate how you had it set up it was back powering the board , connect it the way we just said and it will work , are they servo lead you need

Gotcha! Thank you! Hopefully I will get it to work tomorrow when stores reopen after Christmas :)

Yep, all I need is servo leads to connect from the receiver to KK board.

Hi if you have the buzzer to go with the kk you program the kk to sound alarm at 11.4v so thats about 3,8v a cell on a 3 cell
if not just plug alarm into balance lead of battery

Okay, so I have gotten a replacement KK2.15 board in and it looks as if it's properly working. Now that I am onto my next stage of configuring the quadcopter, I need some guidance on setting up the KK2.15 board.

I have found this video for an initial set up. http://flitetest.com/articles/quadcopter-build-kk2-0-initial-setup Would this be a good video to follow?

My receiver/tx seems to be out of wack, my aileron is -8, elevator is -7/8, throttle is 0, rudder is -6, and auxillary is -7. Is this the stage where I go into my transmitter and change the subtrims until the numbers are at 0?

I have noticed that one of my motors has a delay in starting (seems like it has a hard time to get spinning), what could be the issue? Bad soldering between the 3.5mm butt connectors? ESC calibration?

Thank you!

Hi mate , follow these steps
Set up new model in transmitter as aero
Go into transmitter monitor on the kk if any thing is no reading zero like elev ,rudder etc ( but not aux) use transmitter sub trim to get them to zero .
While in there check stick movement so as you push forward on elev forward will display on the screen if not reverse in transmitter so all matches up
now load motor lay out , if quad is level also calibrate sensors , they should all come back as OK
Now calibrate ESCs ,to do this turn on transmitter put to full throttle then hold down buttons 1 and 4 while held down , now with your 3rd hand (lol) plug in battery your now hear a bleep , now lower throttle and it will bleep again thats it done
If you go through menu there is a section that has ( min throttle a value of 10 normally) adjust this up till all motor start at same time ( mine is 20 thats max)
Now i hope you flashed the board with Steveis 1.8s1pro if you have the default setting are really good the quad will fly well on that ,
here is a link to the manual for the board done by Steveis
