Hi Guys.
Thinking of buying this drone direct from China, just noticed it needs a 5g phone to work, I've only have a 4g phone.. so don't suppose it'll be any good ordering it, could somebody confirm please.
Thanks in advance.Screenshot_2019-05-04 £54 88 50% OFF JJRC H78G 5G WiFi FPV Drone with 1080P Wide Angle HD Came...png

Yes. You have to have a 5G phone for this drone.
Drone will still fly, but no streaming pictures or videos and you are unable to use all the features the app offers.

I assume your selection is a JJRC H78G 5G wifi fpv GPS model.
For a similar price and features, I would venture to suggest SJRC Z5. It comes in 2 versions, a 5G wifi and a 2.4G wifi.
I have the 2.4g version (I don't have a 5G phone either) and I like it very much.

No. It does not come with a hard carrying case. I would have to buy one separately from other source. It is quite expensive.
Yes, it has a sd card slot located near the bottom right side of the drone.

What phone do you use?

4G is cellular and is nothing to do with WiFi.

'5G' on the drone above refers to 5ghz WiFi. It needs a 5ghz wifi compatible chip in your phone
Many phones these days can do both 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi.

I wonder if this model is more compatible with the phone I have?

"Caution: 3 variants of this quad exist but no decals on the frame distinguish between them. They are: 2.4G-720p; 2.4G-1080p; 5G-1080p.
The label stamped on underside of camera appears to be the only external clue to differentiate between them. Only if 5G is stamped on the bottom of the camera is it a 5G model. 1080P designates a 2.4G wifi version. The other clue is the frequency of connection to your cell phone. Not all cell phones have 5G wifi capability however."

Majority of drone manufacturers are from China.
I ordered from Amazon. The whole transaction was handled by Amazon. There were no hidden charges or delay.
I also ordered a few things directly from China, i.e. Banggood.com.
There was never an issue on "Custom" except it took notoriously long period of time for delivery.
In my country, Amazon.ca is the best. Fastest delivery and never an issue when it comes to "return and refund".

I just went through that with a JJRC elite and when I tried to use it it would not pick up a signal cause it needed 5G. in my area 5G is not out yet and won't be for a while. I do have it on my modem at home but not in open fields where I need to be. so for now I bought one with 2.4 gz. I new to all of this but I hope what I said helps you

You are missing the point, note this was explained in a previous post.

''5G' on the drone above refers to 5ghz WiFi. " It has nothing to do with the broadband cellular network technology.

Can confirm that it does not work with my phone, a One Plus One. It didn't occur to me that 'phone compatibility was an issue to watch out for.
It is a JJRC X11. Flies very nicely - waiting for good light to test video and photo quality. Not so good in evening light.

Edit: Done some more research. Apparently the wifi standard is 802.11 ac for 5gwifi, which my OnePlus 1 is supposed to have, but reading other forums suggests that only the OnePlus 3 and newer have 5Gwifi and some people are having problems with the 5gwifi on the OnePlus 3. This 5gwifi area is a bit of a minefield, it seems. The simple answer appears to be to get a fairly new phone with 5gwifi - yet more cost! However, this JJRC X11 is a nice substantial drone, in the 600+gm category, so is bigger and more stable than the under 250gm drones I'm used to, so I'm now looking at sourcing a newer 'phone.

My tablet is picking up the drone's wifi SSID, so the problem is not with the X11.

Edit2: My tablet, a Samsung Tab4, which works with the drone, is not supposed to have 5gWiFi, my One Plus1 which is supposed to have 5gWiFi does not work, but I now have a 2nd hand OnePlus X which also works fine and does have 5gWiFi. What a messy area!
