$1,000 Budget !! Please help me build one.

Yup, 300 kv means 300 rpm / volt, but on 6s battery it can rev fast enough to have the same rpm as a 600kv motors at 3s, but at lower amps. Lower amps means longger flight time, and with lowet kv motors you can use larger props. It wont be as agile as smaller frame, and i guess it won't do acrobatics.
Usually lower kv motors is used for big frame (600mm and up) with hexa configuration for carry big payload like a dslr camera and gimbal, bigger frame means more stability

That is very helpful. My plan is to get the QAV 500 with 540mm arms and the DJI Naza. Those two I'm pretty firm on. Sounds like from what I'm learning from you guys is that I need a lower kv motor and bigger props. I was thinking 12" carbon fiber props. Could someone please throw out a combo of motors, props, and batteries. I'm not against using 2 batteries.

Thanks herp! Would anyone be able to insert 300kv motors and 6s batteries and see what that would give me? Is it true that lower kv means slower spinning props? I'd like to be able to still be nimble in the sky?
Your not going to get nimbal and long flight time, why do you need the long flight time? If you just want the long flight time for fun, if so I'd just get a couple batteries and swap them out when you get low.

This guy says he gets 30 minutes with a qav500 setup.

"I use a Tattu 6s 8000 Mah 25c with T-motors MN3508 KV 308 with T Motor 13×4 .4 CF props and 45 ESC"

You're probably right. I should probably lean towards one or the other. Maybe a 15 minute flight time would be more realistic then I could change out one battery instead of two. The one guy on here plugged all my initial info into a calculator, I can't find it right now but I was wondering if someone could figure out just what I need to get 15 minutes.

15 is pretty reasonable for many 400-500 class.

A 5200 3S mutistar, 800-980kv motors, 30-40 amp ESCs and 11''-12'' props. should do it.

GJH, are you referring to this?

"I use a Tattu 6s 8000 Mah 25c with T-motors MN3508 KV 308 with T Motor 13×4 .4 CF props and 45 ESC"

Any idea how much time this will get me? I want to make sure this is done right the first time.

Yes, but what type of flying are you looking to do? Photography and film or fun? Bigger quads cost more in a crash. A 500 class is pretty much the same price as a 250, and it handles a crash well, but flight time and lift are the big advantages.

I will mostly be flying for fun at first but will be doing video later on, maybe right away, not sure yet. I might as well plan for video. QAV500 site lists a combo they claim gets 25 minutes with all the camera gear on board. Sales pitch, probably.

25 is most likely a hover and the lightest camera equipment, as statistic inflation is everywhere.
