    Drones with switchable propellers?

When you say switchblade, do you mean 1 blade or two? What size quad are you looking for? The micro inductrix or the eachine e010 are often modded by cutting two of the four blades off. some people say it helps performance. You could buy a pair of e010's for around $30 total from eachine and...

To cam, or not to cam?

$7-800 is a very good budget these days. Reliability will be much better with more commercial products than a DIY or something built by a smaller operation (usually) since they have a lot of R&D + more uniform manufacturing processes. Assuming that you don't already have any other RC gear, I'd...

    Unbalanced lipo

Do you have a balance charger? If so, when you charge/balance it, does it charge and balance to the same voltage? If so, you should be good. The cells don't typically discharge perfectly evenly. As far as low voltage goes, most people seem to go 3.5v per cell (and land from there) to be on...

    is bestgear and banggood legit?

I've ordered several times from banggood with no issues and the shipping from their china warehouse hasn't been all that bad. I always spring the extra dollar or two for shipping insurance. I haven't had to use it, but I assume it will help eliminate some of the hassle if I do have a bad...

    Do you tiny whoop?

That does make sense. Once you start losing voltage with the heavier batteries, things probably get a lot more sluggish than with the smaller batteries. Nice on the FPV setup. I just finally gave in and ordered something with a DVR, so I'm pretty excited.

To cam, or not to cam?

I think the biggest question is - what are you looking to spend? The second question is - are you expecting to fly FPV (First Person View) where you are navigating from what the camera is seeing? Or would you rather set a course via GPS and have your quad fly the "mission" around the property...

    Do you tiny whoop?

Nice! Are you using the stock battery still? There's a blog post I saw where a guy tried different batteries and said the stock battery actually got him the longest flight times, even with a camera mounted. I heard something similar for the inductrix from a guy who works for Venom Power. He...

    Do you tiny whoop?

These are great for FPV practice! They really get you comfortable with staying calm as video starts to cut out and things like that. Also after training your instincts to tell your fingers where to move the sticks in various line of sight situations, FPV takes some getting used to. I thought...

Cookie cutter homes in Daly City, California

Beautiful video! I didn't realize that tract homes could be so intriguing.

    Surprise! Another new guy.

Welcome! It sounds like you have a lot of RC experience. It will be nice to have you around the forum! =)

Good thinking. I use a magnifying glass and it always gets in the way.

    Do you tiny whoop?

I haven't had either, but I just soldered motors to the e010 board, which has very tiny pins. I'm not the best at soldering and I was successful in removing the old motor wires and soldering on all 8 new motors wires... and then having to switch two of them because for some reason one of the...

    Do you tiny whoop?

I don't. Assuming you're looking for something that runs dsmx? There is the beebrain. Everyone swears by it, but it's $49.99. https://newbeedrone.com/products/the-beebrain-v-1-cleanflight-betaflight-compatible-flight-control-for-the-beeductrix-inductrix-quad?variant=26456227846 eachine...

Nice! That will make a good Christmas gift for some people this year.

    Lipo batteries

Lithium Polymer batteries are very light in relation to their power capacities (compared to other battery types). They also allow for much higher discharge rates. The number one thing though, is the power to weight ratio. For any RC model that flies, this is very important. On the down side...

    GoPro Karma Recalled

I know - if you've had other commercial quads that had issues, you can appreciate that they recalled it. I'm sure a lot of people are pretty disappointed though. Sucks when you can't fly! Also, they're giving refunds until they resume shipping them again. I'm sure that's going to hurt them...

    Do you tiny whoop?

That's a funny looking little quad! Are you going to fly with that toy tx that comes with it? This fits in a JR module bay and supports some MJX stuff so you can fly with your hobby grade tx: https://github.com/goebish/nrf24_multipro I'm not sure if that will support that model exactly, but...

    Do you tiny whoop?

As some may know, one thing I've been into quite a bit lately (like everyone else) is the tiny whoop / micro / indoor quad craze. Things have already blown up and I assume with winter coming up, this will be an even more developed area of the hobby, so I went ahead and created a new area of the...
