Looking for drone with specific features

Need something with GPS-follow me and return home (no Syma faulty firmware...)
Has FPV 2.0mp (or better) using smartphone app UI only to capture footage but comes with own drone controller.
Has Barometric altitude control
and within $200-250

I'm a person who's looking for his first quadcopter and has already bought 4 and had to return them.

I'm looking for advice on where to find a quad with those features.

You should check out the bugs 2:

Not sure if it has "follow me" but I think that feature is mainly on the higher priced quads.
Not really, especially at that price you linked to. The Hubsan has better video and has a built in 5.8ghz FPV screen (could use with FPV goggles) and unlike the Bugs has a follow me GPS mode, a nice touch. It also has a high rate Sport Mode and replacement batteries are higher mAh and about 30% cheaper, that adds up fast. The latest versions also come with a LiPo for the TX. Since Hubsan has brought down the price it is a good deal.

Hubsan video footage.

Quite acceptable with good focus.

Bug2W.

Note all the blurry patches.

Gotcha. So basically the bugs2 is an underpowered quad with a crappy wifi camera. I'll quit recommending it and start promoting the Hubsan.

I wouldn't say underpowered and FWIW it's WiFi range (and it's overall range in general) is excellent, almost amazing. But the Hubsan (which was about ~$300 last year) is just a better overall choice these days.

FWIW I won a Bugs 2C. At the time I entered the contest they were ~$190. It seems MJX chose to to save a few $ by going with plastic motors and what appears to be a camera of lesser quality that the 2W (watching YouTube footage bears this out) and the addition of a proprietary (and heavier) battery. What's odd is the massive AVI file produced, 3.2GB for 9 minutes. It's also odd that they won't play in Win 10 with the stock player, AVI was actually a Windows developed container.

Looking at the file they list it as M-PEG and uses an astounding 50Mbps (megabytes per second} framerate (the average Blu Ray disc is half that.)

'As a purely intraframe compression scheme, the image quality of M-JPEG is directly a function of each video frame's static (spatial) complexity. Frames with large smooth transitions or monotone surfaces compress well and are more likely to hold their original details with few visible compression artifacts. Frames exhibiting complex textures, fine curves and lines (such as writing on a newspaper) are prone to exhibit DCT artifacts such as ringing, smudging, and macroblocking.'

My $80 smartphone produces vastly superior video at 17Mbps using the more modern AVC/MPEG4 codec which of course plays in everything.

My 2C does fly nicely though. Quick RTH works well, but the one time I tried Smart RTH it flew up so high I lost track of it, I freaked out and turned it off. I guess I have to read the manual more fully.

MJX may have hit a homerun with the Bugs 3, but the Bugs 2 is barely a double. :)

I hear ya on the AVI files. I wonder why the quad cameras can't just record with the MPEG4 files? My laptop doesn't like the AVI files but my cheap tablet plays them fine, yet MPEG4s play perfect on both? Go figure?

Ahh okay, I see, I'm not sure about Chromebook but I know for a Windows 10 machine, I often use their standard Movie Maker application to edit my recorded drone footage. However, that said I have just checked my drone SD card and found that the recordings are .mp4 as standard and not AVI on my H501S.

You can just use something like Windows Movie Maker to convert them to .MP4
Any conversion makes for a degradation in quality. But my point was the Bugs 2 AVIs that are troublesome compared to normal AVIs. All other AVIs I have play in Win 10. BTW AVI is just a container, the Bugs 3 puts crap inside. Many AVIs are MPEG4s inside.

I just checked MM in Win 7 will open them. MM is no longer available for Win 10 though.

I am looking for some help with Bugs 2c camera. Here's the problem, the first time I used it I was able to record 3 videos. The second time I attempted to use the camera it would not record videos or photos. No icons showed up on the transmitter when I tried to take pictures or videos. I found others on this forum that had similar experiences however no one had an answer as why this was happening. I put the micro SD in my computer and looked at the files. There were 2 directories, photo and video. I decided to delete all the files and see what happened. After I did that I was able to record one photo or one video but no more unless I went back and deleted the recorded video or photo.
I also discovered that there are hidden files on the micro SD card, so my assumption was that you could not just go and buy another card to resolve the problem. I'm not a programmer so I am hesitant to start messing around with the hidden files. I have tried contacting MJX support, but no luck so far.
Did you have any problems with your Bugs 2c camera? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Lastly, I have a Imac and the quick time player would not recognize the .avi files. I found a third party application called VLX that allows me to view the videos.
Thank you.

Didn't you buy the one you are using now? You should be able to buy any number of cards/brands that work.

No, I did not buy the card. It came with the bugs b2c which I purchased new. Some of the other people on the forum who were having the same problem with camera working once did buy new micro SD cards.
It did not solve the problem.
It is very frustrating trying to get technical assistance with these companies in China that do not have a US presence.

No, I did not buy the card.
Is it a class 10?
Not familiar with Imacs, have you tried reformatting it using FAT32? The hidden file you speak of may just be an ID from your player. I know Windows Movie Maker adds one.

B2 fat32 .JPG

I just used this one that I'm also using for my action cam, works fine.

If you have a Walmart nearby, this is the same spec.

The card is currently formatted as FAT32.
There are 2 main directories, PHOTO & VIDEO.
The hidden files at the top level are: .fseventsd, .Spotlight-V100, .Trashes, and FILORDER.BIN
These maybe files that MACOSX (apple os) installs on the SD card, but I don't know why.
The file named trashes contains all the photo and video files that I have deleted from the 2 top level directories.
I tried to reformat the card as FAT32, but that option is grayed out.
The card class is unknown and its capacity is 8GB.
Capacity is not a problem. I still have over 6GB left.
The card name is disk2s1.
If you still have your bugs b2c and its original micro SD card I wonder if you would mind printing out the file structure for me.
Thank you.
