Ran my brushless motor underwater then took it apart. (video)

Thought it may have been the equivalent of the muffler bearing joke when it was suggested but apparently not. The retaining clip was a real pain in the ass to get off, and the problem turned out to be some stray windings rubbing on the magnets.

I was dubious about the water but now I've seen this, as long as my boards & components are waterproof then my quad should fly underwater. lol.
I got spare crappy dys 1806 but never really wanted to waste a motor.
I thought the water thing was like go & ask him for a long stand or a packet of sky hooks,camo paint which you can get now.
So yeah this is how I'll be cleaning my motors once in a while.

I tried to use mine, but they are all Automotive grade.

I hear you. I have a pliers that uses different size tips. Makes it real convenient. Forgot where I got them.

Try Wal-Mart if your well off go to snap on that way if you snap a tip they will replace for free

You skipped over the part about re-soldering the broken wires.....! How did you even know which wire went where?

I am going to redo the wiring with new wires and new connectors. That means a lot of soldering. I take pictures of everything in case I forget where things go.
