Help with Venom Pro gps

I just got this for Christmas. But having issues flying. I can synch the transmitter and then get flashing lights on the drone and then finally solid lights. But while flying the lights start flashing and the drone climbs up out of control
 
There is a fine line on the throttle too much it goes up. Too little goes down, we all dealt with this @ first. You just have to find that line. You will get used to it.
Muscle memory.
 
Thanks. But this occurs when we don't give it any more or less throttle. It is like a default setting to climb straight up. I think the issue is we lose our connection between drone and transmitter
 
No you're not losing connection with transmitter, you're losing GPS lock. You flying inside? Done compass calibration? (aka naza dance)
 
Nope flying in the back yard and front yard. Yes we have done the drone compass and gyro synch.
Found out I got drone eating trees:) At least I think we have done it correctly:)
 
The only thing I can suggest is to repeat the compass calibration. Do it outside in a wide open area and remove any car keys, cell phones, etc. from your pockets so as to have no possible magnetic interference
 
Thanks. That makes sense. I might try that. Not sure why losing GPS would make it climb up. Is it searching for GPS signal? Might need to relook at how to do it

Well, I'm not familiar with that specific craft but in general when you're in GPS mode, the throttle is just calibrated differently than in non-GPS modes so that the craft will hover at mid-stick. When you drop GPS lock, mid-stick is now giving your craft a good bit of throttle.
 
Thanks. But if the Drone starts to climb and you pull back on the throttle and the drone doesn't respond. Not sure what to do then?
 
I don't know that quad, so I'm of limited usefulness. However, the first thing I would do it bring it briefly off the ground, then shut off the transmitter to see what it does on loss of signal. Ideally, it should land. Less ideally, it might just cut the motors entirely. I would be surprised if it simply continued to run without control signal, but it's possible. By checking you should be able to get a sense whether loss of signal is causing your issue.

If not, the next step would be to switch out of GPS mode if that's possible with that quad, and see if your problem still happens. If it does, you have eliminated loss of GPS signal integrity as your cause as well.

If you eliminate control signal loss and GPS signal loss, you would be left with a receiver or flight control board issue, and should contact the seller for a return.
 
Well we got better at flying. But then for some reason I guess lost of GPS signal. It climbed up and when we got it to come down it got stuck in a tree:(. Some crack in on arm. I might try a stab of super glue
 
Well I apply some Goop. But now it flies horribly. Not sure if I need to balance it?. I apply straight up and it flies hard to the rear.
