Program Tranis 9D Plus for a video switcher

First let me say I've connected the switcher using a ubec feeding a X8R and 2 cameras and it switches between both no issue so I know my connections are correct.
I move this over to my quad and connect to aux port 4(channel 12) on the pixhawk. Program my tranis radio mixer for channel 12 for a 3 position switch and I only get channel 1 camera to show . Does not switch. I know it's in my radio set up but can't figure it out where.
I've tried various ports on the pixhawk and reset my radio for that channel. Nothing so far works.
If someone could provide the steps for setting up my radio to use a switcher would be very much appreciated. I've looked over the web for such information with no luck. In case I'm asked the power off the pixhawk is 5 volts. The switcher which is a Hobby King 3 channel video switcher.

Using SBUS off the X8R so all the channels are through the pixhawk. I already have aux channel 9-11 being used to control gimbal and FPV camera servo. These movements are set to knobs on the tranis. From what I've read on other post you don't connect to the X8R when using a Pixhawk FC.

There must be others who use a Pixhawk with a video switcher. Not understanding why it's so difficult for step by step instructions. It's more then just assigning a switch on the radio. That's simple.

When I got the switch I set it up using another receiver just to make sure it works. My last one did not so I wanted to be sure prior to installing it into my quad. As I said its not my connections or the switcher itself so the next variable is the channel set up hence the reason for asking for step by step using a tranis radio.

Sorry for not being more clear. I have no issue setting up switches on my Tranis. Done it with other items on my quad. The issue is getting a 3 position switch to work with the video switcher.
