the thread of fun

okay, you got me. i bought the drone. i'm sitting with it here.

i've been looking at these things online for ?? a month and a half ??

let's see if a forum can do this faster than i can -

i'm sitting here with my kingkong 110GT. i've just pushed the props onto the motors.

i have a bag of little m2*8 screws. i always see those on the props, but *no one ever shows about that* in their drone unboxing videos, that part is always skipped right through.

fortunately i have a 1.5mm allen wrench that fits the screws.

the screws go straight through the holes in the props. my guess is there are magical unicorns that they screw into on the other side of the prop. i mean, if they screwed into the battery, my eyes would squirt out of my head.

so what am i supposed to do with these screws.

i am saying, you can put the screw, all the way into the hole, and pull it out again, without it catching any thread in the prop. are the screws too small?

god help me when i try to figure out how to bind it.

it's only six minutes, but i *cannot believe* i'm still looking for this information. all the mounting props videos on youtube have different mounts. do you just glue the screws in so they look sharp on videos to fool newbies?

alright..

this is what i mean. you should all be like me. why are you wrong.

what you do is you say

HOW TO MOUNT A PROP ON A BRUSHLESS MOTOR

you see, in the first place, a new person with no clue, you see,

pushes the props on the motor shafts, pleased that they have correctly placed them according to rotation.

AFTER they've pushed them on

they finally realise

the outer part of the motor turns,

*AND YOU HAVE TO SCREW THE LITTLE SCREWS INTO THAT*

because a newbie person, you know, would conceive of the motors being like conventional dc motors,

*where just the shaft turns*

but now they have pushed the props on so they cannot see where the bleeding holes are CAN THEY

THEN they have to remove the props

but, of course,

they've pushed th eprops onto the motor shafts far enough that you cannot fit the prop removal tool under them

CAN THEY

BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T SAY SOMETHING SENSIBLE LIKE

*how to mount a prop on a brushless motor*

1) you put the prop removal tool near the shaft, then push the prop on. this is so you don't push it on too far.

2) when you do #1, make sure them little holes are all lined up, like.

you see this is the kind of information you would convey to someone who didn't know and was doing it for the first time.

do you know how much these things cost? this is so traumatic. all of you are getting a bill from my therapist in the form of abusively wordy internet forum posts. so there.

if any of you want to volunteer your learned advice on prop mounting because it's like murder pulling those delicate and expensive things off this tiny machine.

the box shows up it's the size of my wallet. the quadcopter would probably fit up my nose. this is more money than i have spent on any single item in like a decade.

just to keep things simple and fun and honest

when i was a kid i witnessed a couple of ultraviolent events eg. an IRA bombing. and ever since i have been thinking and thinknig and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and

you can't leave things to the imagination. i mean - i'm not a moron. but if you want people who are totally mental to underastand things, you cannot leave them to the imagination.

the way i put it is,

most people, when they cross the street, check "both directions" for traffic.

OTOH people like me -

check left for traffic
check right for traffic
check for traffic driving through buildings perpendicular to the roadway (that happens in tucson, and all these buildings are so cheap anyone could drive their car straight through them)
check for cars falling out of the sky
check for radioactive man eating cars burrowing out of the ground

see? if you are in an enterprise and want people to understand the matter, you must be precise, and not leave things to the imagination.

you think you're so smug, you wait until your leg gets chewed off because you didn't expect it. that's never going to happen to me, nuh-uh.

and i'm sure you veterans know people who are exactly like me, because i do too.

and of course cars materialising from other dimensions. how are you going to notice that kind of thing if you aren't even thinknig about it. i'd say look around you, but basically, no one is going to do that until it (whatever IT is) happens to them.

i'm still trying to figure out how to enter the **** menu on the fs-i6. i accidentally held down multiple buttons and it appeared for a moment, then disappeared, unable to replicate. watchign ***** videos for a hope of a clue.

my cat has a special way of wiping his ass on the carpet. he only does this when i am totally wigged out. he sticks his back legs in the air and scoots himself along with his fornt legs, voila, instant poop streak. and it looks really surreal as he is on the edge of your peripheral dragging his ass along, like a moonwalk.

it's totally the last thing you ever want to see, especially when you are goin gtotally mental trying to figure something out you shouldn't have to be figuring out.

HOW TO ENTER TEH MENU ffs. why it not say this. why menu not appear. did i do wrong? now i have ot clean up the poop.

i did not write the word "poop" - it makes me sound like some kinda.

you people really need to legalise. so many years of having to deal with freaking mental and beign totally dry. legalise teh f*** already. for gods sake.

you know what time people get the mail it's midday is the time

it's gonig to be fing dark befor ei bind this thing. that's fing wrong. you need to say "the screws are not tensioners the motor case rotates dumass" htf am i supposed to know from stills?

i mean

if it wasn't for a youtube video explaining "everybody knows, to save settings on the fs-i6, you long hold cancel"

everybody knows

it's not in the manual. use that 1980's name editor (why not joystick??) then you don't know how to save the name, it's not in the manual. it just says how to edit the letters, not save what you just edited.

drive you frekaing mental, other people will. never other people, never.

right now i fing hate you all

there's a hole in my ceiling and my quad is orbiting pluto

no seriously, i have no fing idea what is supposed to be done. i bound it, turned off, turned on, nothing. i hit a switch, flashes changed, touched throttle, and there's white plaster all over the fing place and the thing keep sbeeping the "turn on" sequence like i broke something inside.

but
we all know i broke something inside. it's the part of me where i interact with society, and society tells me useful things to know. the part that's broken is the part that's you.

no fing clue. thanks a lot.

yep.

the ceiling has four dents in it where the motors are.

i mean, why did that video say to set aux 5 and 6 to the switches? so my throttle is connected to a switch, 0 or 100%?????

this hurts. it always hurts, and i always feel let down, and i always lose what precious few things i have.

i mean

you have no idea what this house means to me. i eat fing stress all fing day and night. sleep? i don't remember what sleep is like. i really don't need to be blowing fing holes in the ceiling.

impressed, real powerful motors. but ffs can someone tell me how to set this up so i can fly it and not destroy the few precious things left in the world.

i guess the issue here is it's not binding. from another video i was able to discern that the fs-is first reads "binding.." then displays "bind okay" except that never happened.

the alleged flysky Rx on the 100GT has a blue LED that flashes slowly after i turn the fs-i6 on (with the bind button held down) but it never says "bind okay". there is a *red* LED under the plastic canopy which flashes occasionally (following a green led) but there's no change in rate at any point.

also, there are so few end users for the 100GT that i can find that there's no chance of finding a 100GT and fs-is user. i do not know what flysky receiver is installed. it's smaller than the fs-ia6. there are messages at rcgroups in the flysky forum about some flysky Rx not binding. as said, this one has a *blue* led on it (all the literature about binding says "red led").

ty :D

what's the sequence? what i understood from doc is:

1) hold Rx bind
2) power Rx
3) hold Tx bind
4) power Tx

but eg. do i have to keep holding them until power down? done this several times.

i'm watching a video
where the fs-i6 is done first, then the Rx

tried it this way a couple times now.

frustrating thing is, and this is what i mean, never f around with someone's imagination, you gotta say the things,

he sets aux. 5 and aux. 6 to switches c and b respectively.

he tells you to do this. but doesn't say why.

i've been to hell. i know hell inside and out. i can introduce anyone. telling people to do stupid things like this, without any indication of purpose, that's from hell. so is leaving your video's audio track at some ridiculously low level. learn how to use a compressor or a limiter or just raise the crap out of the volume so people can hear your s.

Rx is FS-RX2A according to banggood - currently searching on that........

....pulled back sticky pad, does say FS-RX2A on it, but it's elongated, not small and square like pictures of the same model online.

the firmware on my fs-i6 is 1.1 date 27 mar 2015

i got BNF because of my old pc, i don't want to f around with all of that. think it's a must to get it working with the Rx??

ty for assist, feel like smashing my johnson off with a brick.
