probably there wit the biggest of noobs..

hey guys, new to the forum and completely new to flying. anyway, here's whats been frustrating and drivin me nuts for a whole damn week! ..

I got myself what i think falls in that 'toy' category of drones/quadcopters

its called; -- X33c Folding Drone
not sure if anyone is fam with this particular type,, its a fairly basic $50 range quadcopter which comes with a hd camera.

I un boxed it and slowly assembled everything while reading through the Manual provided. got it all together, charged the battery as well a put 4 new AA batteries in the controller/transmitter (2.4Ghz)

Ok so here is my problem. on the very first start up i turned the switch on the copter to 'on' and the 4 LED lights on the underside of it were on and flashing. switched it off a minute later, went and opened the Manual to read through transmitter instructions on how to install and checked out the functions for a little while. half hour later i was ready so i got back to my copter and opened the switch again to turn it on BUT this time the 4 LED lights never came on. strangely enuff they just wouldn't light up again!! the red light in the camera tho, works when i plug in the battery and switch on.

im yet to figure out what it is, why the lights suddenly don't work (but camera does) and how to fix it!

apologies for the lengthy post btw. just so pissed off im yett to get the thing crankin and off the ground already! ;""((

props for anyone who might be able to help. really would greatly appreciate it. cheers

Well did you try to arm and fly it? Did you try the auto take off function? Seems the LEDs can be switched off, maybe you inadvertently did that.

well that was the first time i was about to arm/calibrate and fly it. thing is, transmitter was off when i opened the switch on the quad so thats what doesn't make sense to me as to how the leds suddenly wouldnt work, had absolutely no interference yet with the controller.

maybe i have switched em off, didn't even know that could be done. how do you switch the LEDs off/on anyway?

spent a bloody long time searching to find the problem with unbelievably near nothing related to my issue. :/

thanks for the reply bro.

You should make sure your battery is being charged- meter it. Why are you so obsessed with the LEDs? Are saying you didn't even try to fly it?

what im saying is ive been trying to fly it BUT the transmitter seems to have no effect on the quad, like it wont power it on, doesnt start the motors, nothing..
AND i thought those 4-leds that light up flashing when you switch on the quad need to come on in order to be able to sync with transmitter and actually start the motors.

just don't know what to do to start flying the damn thing man. really could not care less about the LEDs, thought they need to light on each time on start up to power on the quad.

so confusing think i might smash it off the wall and throw it all in the bin. fvck it, im over the effort trying, trying and trying and getting nowhere. thought id figure it out by now tbh. starting to think that maybe there's loose wiring or something..

When troubleshooting you can't assume anything.

agree but the camera light turns on when i open the switch on the quad which is powered by the battery right?
so batt is most likely good and ive fully charged it too.

which now sort of makes me think that maybe there's a short some where in the circuit but again i just don't know for sure and wish i did. strange it seems. brand new quadcopter hasn't even left the ground yet. ffs :/

/ bump

@Jackson you seem like a elite rc head, a poster thats certainly knowledgeable more than enough to suggest to a clueless newb like myself, what i should do to fix this thing.

as im aware it could be anything at this point, what would you say, where should i begin.. is it likely to be an internal problem or something quite simple that i may be missing here.
