Trouble calibrating my ESC's in Betaflight.

So I just got done putting together my first drone. I have some 30A Racerstar ESC's, Racerstart BR2205 motors, and the SP F3 flight controller.

I picture up a Turnigy Evolution for my transmitter which comes with the iA6C receiver and I have that hooked up using iBus. I plugged the FC in via USB to Betaflight and flashed Betaflight to it. Plugged in my batter and all my directions and aux channels seem to be working after I selected serial RX and iBus.

I then disabled stage 2 failsafe and moved to the motors tab. Everything I read and watched say to disconnect the battery, move throttle to 100%, plug battery back in, it will beep a bunch, move throttle to ZERO, it will beep some more, and profit!

That isn't happening for me. I move throttle to 100% without the battery but the RX isn't powered up without the battery plugged in so it doesn't show anything in Betaflight. I plug the battery in and nothing happens.

The only thing it does is if I arm my quad the motors all start freaking out.

Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be great.

You don't happen to have any blackbox data to look at do you? That would make it a lot easier to know what is happening. In a hurry I read that a bit quick however, so I'll take a gander again when I get back to see if I better understand your problem.

So I figured it out.....I wasn't moving the master slider in Betaflight. I thought I would suppose to move my stick on my controller to put everything on max. Got the to calibrate fine.

However....new issue. On the Evolution, I have switchA as my arm switch, showing up as CH 4 in Betaflight. I set up 3 position switch B as my flight modes, which is showing channel 2 in Betaflight. So switch C (3-position) I didn't set as anything. But when I move my switchC, it makes changes to my throttle. Up position, throttle at 1000. Middle position, throttle at 885. Down position, throttle at 1000.

Also, if I flip my failsafe, the motors come on but when sitting on my desk, they somewhat freak out. I have to hold it steady and then they will slow down and idle. If I try to pick it up of the desk at all the motors start to jitter. That normal? Is that just the FC doing it's job?

Make sure in BF you are set to AETR1234.
