Syma x8hg

Hi, I'm new to flying, got my first drone, a Syma x8hg. First flight went well, was just practicing the controls. Secong try bombed out bad. 3Rd try gave up. As soon as I get it up in air it takes off in one direction. I try to bring it back and it goes down. Now I can't fly it. It starts up and when I try to raise it it tilts to one side.
Any help is appreciated.

Have you set the trim settings?

Also, there's a calibration process to reset the quad's board. Set the quad down on a level service. Turn on the quad. Lights should blink. Turn on the transmitter and bind it to the quad like you normally would by moving the throttle stick up and then down. To calibrate move BOTH sticks at the same time to the lower right. The lights on quad should blink for about 5 seconds.

Try that and see what happens when you fly.

Thanks for the reply Birdy. I'll try that tomorrow after work and see how it goes. Do you have to do this each time before you fly?

Forgot to ask, what are trim settings? I didn't see that mentioned in the instruction book.
Thanks.

On all of my Symas I just about always do it as a matter of routine before each flight. Takes a few seconds. It's especially helpful to do this after a crash or when the quad otherwise gets knocked around.

The trims are the little buttons next to he control sticks. Should be four off them. You move them in one direction or the other to "trim up" the quad's movements. In many cases you can just keep them "centered." Play around with them and you'll see what works best.

EDIT: Get on You Tube and search for this quad. Should be a load of reviews and some decent tutorials that will go way beyond the mostly useless printed instructions.

Thanks, I'll do this. And yes the printed instructions that came with it are useless.
