UK FPV, how do you get through trees

Hi all,
Not sure its the place to ask, but does everyone stick to 5.8 here in the UK? Or play around with other frequencies? I've read that I may struggle with video signal even through slight trees.
I have some awesome derelict places near me that I'd love to fly around a bit but I know I can't.

I see people with vids in parks going around bushes and back etc, will I be able to do the same here with 5.8?

Ah cool, I found this guy on YouTube. Great channel. Just so many vids to catch up on. Thanks for narrowing it for me dude!

I'm still a little confused,
I have fatsharks circular antenna already, and fatsharks 250mw tx but Ive read a lot of places that it's not possible with 5.8 to do non LOS style flying bar thin tree branches.
But then charpu vid
On the drop down he has very similar spec but flying through concrete walls etc.
I'm not after range really, I'd much prefer strong signal shorter range ( if I crash I want to be able to find my quad haha)

Just confused with online opinions, mainly from people who have the option to change frequencies.

If I got one of those helical antenna with good dp, would that then help with close range through objects? (This may have been the point you are making and I'm slow haha)

As another note, is video likely to drop out before control frequency?

Its been my understanding 5.8g is more for open areas and 1.2g is capable of penetrating objects and maintaining your signal through walls, thick brush and trees.

First remember you aren't seeing the actual FPV camera footage, that's an action cam, the real FPV video is probably dancing/fading/ breaking up all the time.

This guy also has no problems with concrete, metal etc.

One hell of a pilot and editor. Also note those smooth hovering shots... no gimbal is used.

This guy likes to fly while sitting inside his house, but he has also wired the entire perimeter of it.

Yes, that's true ... Which kind of makes you wonder why 5.8 is all the rage ... Actually UHF is the best for both longer distances AND penetrability, but if you wanna be like Charpu ... lol ... Then this list of his gear is the way to go ... Would be nice to be sponsored like him and get it all for free too !

Start doing some reviews if you want free stuff. This annoying, elitist dwarf gets tons of stuff free then has periodic garage sales.

This just some of it. There are also cars, bikes and helis.
