Have I wasted my money

Hi

Been lurking for a few weeks now and decided to take the plunge and buy my first Drone, having flown RC Nitro heli's and packed up that hobby a few years ago I thought I would go for the MJX X101

so I am waiting for delivery of this along with the 4008 camera and the delivery of a sj7000 GoPro clone/look alike camera. This is where I think I have gone wrong.

I intend to use the SJ7000 under the X101 when I have got the hang of flying these things however I note that the Wi-Fi range on this camera is only listed as 20 to 30 MTRs and as the Drone will fly to approx. 100mts does this mean the camera will cease to send pictures/video back to my phone when it reaches this 20/30 mtrs flight.

If so is this money wasted if this is the extent of the camera's range. also another problem I forsee is that as the camera is hung upside down under the X101 will it transmit video back to the phone upside down

Forget about WiFi, for one thing it will probably cause interference problems with your quad. Get a brand name class 10 SD card and pop that into your sj7000. That's the only way you'll be able to get the high resolution video it can deliver.

I second that good call Jackson also later on you can add fpv to the camera , if you go for 5.8 g your have more range than the quad has

I would also suggest you try to mount it without the waterproof case. You need to keep the weight as low as possible with those brushed motors.

Hi

Thanks for your replys, I think I am jumping the gun and trying to run before I can walk

I have decided to send the camera back when it arrives and learn to fly without one for now

Many thanks

Keep the camera you can get a head mount so you can video your flying till you get a quad big enough to carry it ,this video I did to day using the turnigy action camera sorry not my quad just a test flight of new firmware but will give you an idea of how it comes out
