Has any here had a problem buying thrrough GearBest?

UNBELIEVABLE, i was thinking they asked me for $40 because the 3 quads i had to swap to were more expensive, buttttt, it turns out we have an even bigger scandal -

''Thank you for contacting us. According to our experience declaring a lower value on the shipping will usually allow customers to reduce possible import taxes or customs blockages.
If you have any specific requirement regarding declaration, please feel free to add a comment for us during the check-out. ''

Just when you think a company couldn't get any worse, GearWorse shows how to shock horror!

Other stores give options to declare the package contents value - Its a US thing on imports - so far we do not have that issue in Aussie. I ordered from HobbyKing and they do the same - even suggesting the items are declared as "gifts" or "toys".
Why worry about it - unless you want to pay import taxes!

I just purchased a few things of GearBest, awaiting delivery. I am concerned because I've been reading about their poor customer service when I googled "GearBest Shipping Times".
All online stores in China offer "Free Shipping" - First there is nothing free - check most items they offer against legit stores and I found a lot are a few $$ more - which goes towards your free shipping.
Free shipping is sent out via the Consolidated shipping hub - it means your stuff can hang about an airport export shed waiting for some not used cargo space heading to your country. If you get lucky it can start its journey within days - especially if its small... then it can drop into odd air pockets of space! Free shipping is anything upto 25 days - but can take 60! At least they will make you wait that long just in case your missing delivery is just late and turns up!
You want it quick..... then you have to pay more. Then your item may just drop into the area where you can get it from Amazon or eBay cheaper.
To be honest... where you can - use eBay - you get buyer protection and almost all the online stores also run eBay shops and if not - they all all take orders - then send their truck out around the factories and suppliers and collect what you want - I doubt any hold any real stock as you see pix of Amazons giant storage areas.

UNBELIVABLE - I thought i had some reprieve 6 days ago when i wrote to Gearworst demanding a full refund paid to PayPal and not via a wallet (store credit).

They wrote back that day saying they would do this, they added it may take up to 3 days for it to show in my PayPal account which is correct.

HOWEVER - to no surprise given the unprofessionalism and shocking customer care, there has been NO REFUND!

When i go back into my GearWorst ticket (customer care messaging), the note of my refund has been deleted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now taking my case to international trading standards as i seriously am livid beyond belief.

I warn all of you, if you have any sense what so ever, DO NOT ORDER OF GEARWORST

Maybe their customer service is deteriorating, but I must say I have 6 successful orders from them, one successful cancelled refunded order. But after these 7 transaction now they dont accept my credit card anymore.... Wanted to purchase 3 or more orders but they are not accepting my credit card information anymore, go figure. They have the widest selection of spare parts, ex. they are the only ones with motors for the L6052 with a reasonable price and shipping!! Hek forget the price and shipping I cant find the motors anywhere else! They had the original spare motors and batteries for my mjxrc x400... To be honest Im applying for another CC to be able to purchase from them... I want another l6052, another x165 xinlin, SHENGKAI D10, D97. Many toy quads options to mess around with for under $30 without cam...

But no one can beat banggood service and their live chat almost any time all year! gearbest's online chat currently out of service maybe truely too busy maybe not available during Xmas who knows....

During my episode with their Everbuying desk.... they "editted" their replies to me AFTER I said I was going to start a PP dispute. BUT being wise I had taken a precaution of doing screen grabs of all their replies.... and sent them copies as attachments on the ticket. Which is probably why I got a 100% refund - but only to wallet and by that time I had had enough of the game. I opted to get Devo 10 - and paid an extra few $$. I have a thread about all this... still not sure this Devo is working 100% - the seal was broken when it arrived - so something was wrong at some stage.... but I did get a $45 refund - which with an extra $5 or so - got me a set of 2212 980 Mars Motors! and they are 100% OK ..and amazingly, it only took 9 or 10 days to arrive.

Go here - http://www.resellerratings.com/store/gearbest leave a really 1 star bad review listing all the issues - they monitor this website ( and the 7 others I left equally scathing reviews) and usually make a reply within hours saying they offered a response in your ticket.
My opinion is you are on a loser if you expect them to roll over and be nice.
The only way you will get a PP refund... is to start a dispute - they then have 20 days to respond. So do it and the clock is ticking. BUT PP usually require you to return their goods at your expense - which is why I and most others accept the store credit to keep the full $$$ value.

I have said this before - I have been using BangGood and I cannot fault them! They refund to PP if there is a cancellation or problem. BUT their forum is full of post by those who have issues about quality and all the other stuff that can go wrong - but most seem to get a decent resolution.

On these notes i like to explain my successfull cancelation/refund is because of quantity issues... before completely putting the order through. I made the order, and after clicking continue i realize the quantities not as i want, so i cancelled the order, and reissued the same order with proper quantities... so its a refund before items being shipped out....

With some digging I can find a direct email address to MJX service. I was arranging a direct purchase which fell through because of the high cost of getting a battery - so it was DHL at $52....
Anyway I can llook it up if it will help - but you may find teh item price is Ok... but they don't get involved in "free Shipping" of the 30 day China Post stuff...
OR you can search eBay for MJX and filter the results to you find an MJX store look for the service at MJX email address. Their website contact us stuff just ignored me - the email address got through - though not sure if its staff slipping it out the back door!!

OR you could just get your wife/girlfriend/partner/Best Mate/ mother to open an account and get them for you - or get another card and ........ or .....

I've been doing constant quad research the past month. GearBest has a horrible reputation!
GearBest are one of three online toy/electronics/quad stores online - owned or operated by the same people and in the same office. ( anybody doubting the veracity of my comments - search for and read my thread Syma Saga)
The other two are EverBuying and Tiny Deals. I suspect there are others - but I never bothered to check after proving my original statements about these three - and others who operate more than one website/store.
There are more like these who have bad reps... but you need to understand that China does not have the same Consumer laws as have most if not all "Western" countries - and copyright law seems none existent with the copies/clones/fakes on sale.
GB like others - send out goods known to be defective ( see my Syma Saga thread) they rely on the fact that return shipping at your expense - is not a move many will take having already been conned! So they offer a refund - GB et al do not "refund" to your CC or PP - they institute a "store credit" - which forces you to use to buy something else.
Having traveled that path over the course of literally weeks of delays and "ticket" message going back and fore - all designed to wear you out and go away - IF i was to go back I would have started a PP dispute - but again - PP expect you to return the defective item.
These stores know you will never buy anything again - customer loyalty is not an issue to them - its internet business - world wide and years already passed of amassing bad reputations and conned customers - has not diminished their income... so why worry about one guy with a quad that wont fly - or whatever.

I am one of the biggest critics of the three stores I mentioned - because they caused me weeks of aggravation and lost cash. I decided to try BanGgood.... My first order - they had no stock - this is how I stated with EverBuying and the WLToys quad I ordered - asked for refund - got store credit - BG without me asking cancelled the order and refunded back to PP. I have used them for 5 other orders - and I have no complaints.
Ye sthey have a forum and yes there are posts on it that complain of getting broken or defective items - but BG always sort out the problem with replacements or refunds.
Checking a lot on the forum and many seem to have ordered something of low value - complain online - but often do not follow through and seek a refund or a replacement - or want to wait another 3 or 4 weeks.
I did have a late delivery and BG suggested I wait 60 days - and if not arrived they will replace. They know that sometimes deliveries do sit somewhere waiting a space in teh Consolidated Shipping hub system that allows cheap freight charges WHEN there is available space. Packages can travel in a zig zag pattern from different air cargo routes to get to a final destination - it takes time.
I made on order on HobbyKing last Thursday - opting for a $20 DHL shipping fee to get here before Christmas, it arrived yesterday - Sunday delivery due to the seasonal rush - had it not been for that - then it would be here today Monday.
That said a while back I ordered a receiver for a Devo 10 - from Banggood - it arrive din 5 days from order and from Melbourne which is about 500 miles away. I asked how it was that it came from inside Oz.. they did not answer.
I have found a (to me) new online store selling quad stuff - I have a $20 sample order in transit - to test the system.. and will get back with what I find.

Depending on your country - Amazon and eBay are often better options. With eBay you have protection and often the online store and the eBay store are all waiting in Goods Out offices in ShenZhen - for the same items.

Banggood great customer service, i have a package not arrive they refunded to CC, had 2 bad batteries out of 5 for x5c, they sent 2 replacements, one was bad other had half capacity. Every delayed shipment i questioned they offered refund but i said ill wait and indeed the shipments arrived (ones that i ordered without tracking)...

I think BG know that some stuff will go missing in transit and that some of the stuff they buy in to re-ship out - will have issues which are endemic in Chinese production factories, so they do try to resolve issues.
More than one I tried to make this point to EverBuying ( there tie up with GB etc are detailed above) and mention that every customer they "rip off - will tell all their friends and family - post on "social media" in forums and any outlet they can find. Thus resulting in loss of business. Totally not concerned - its all "passing trade" to them and seem to accept that they have a bad name.

I posted a "review" on SiteJabber - got this info today by email..
Your review is getting attention!
1,298 other Jabbers have read your Everbuying.net review.
You’re just 1 review away from your next badge. Keep going!

So, almost 1300 readers - every one now aware - even though I suspect they are victimes and the sitejabber review came up in Google et al searches about EB.
In all I have made "reviews" on at least 10 similar websites... so a potential 13000 or any figure between 1300 and 13000 - will have seen negative reviews.
GB monitor resellerrating.com and usually put in a reply to say they have offered a solution by ticket..read and respond!
All the websites ask if reviewers have been asked by teh store to put up a review. After doing a positive review on EB to add some points to my account knowing I had some credit due...they sent me ticket/email offering 500 - 1500 points. "Glo " also got a near same offer from Gb and collected about $20 credit for them !)
I copied the information - and added it to my review! I will never deal with EB - Gb or their other site Tiny Deals again.

Gearbest are rotten. 3 of my last four orders never arrived. The ticket system to get hold of them is pathetic. I am not saying Banggood are perfect (no online retailer is) but they are a much better outfit in my experience. You can get them on live chat and they do make an effort to sort you out if something goes wrong. Gearbest are black listed by me for good now. A look at the comments on any gearbest facebook post gives you an idea of just how many people have issues with them.

To add a little balance here, GearBest are my go to suppliers.
Everything quad copter related I've purchased so far has come from them, mainly due to the recommendations from Quadcopter 101 on youtube.

And you have never had any problems with whatever you ordered??
QC101 is a "professional" reviewer ie the stores send him free items in return for a video review on youTube. Any of the stores who do so are going to make double sure - that apart from any in transit damages - what he gets has been checked to ensure its A1 in good order. If he or any reviewer were to buy anonymously for reviews - I am sure they would at times, get the defective products and have all the ongoing related issues I and others by the truck load have endured.
I have not - and never will use GearBest - but if you have read the thread - you will know they and Everbuying.net- which I used - along with Tiny Deals are in the same stable.
Other have doubted my statement as fact and I proved my case very easily. They may even have other "stores" but I did not waste my time digging out more information.
BangGood does not have an unblemished reputation - but so far my orders with them have arrived in good order and I have not had reason to complain or seek refunds for defective items. I have used FoxtechFPV - supposedly a reliable supplier of genuine top quality items... my first order went missing - tracking showed it never left China - I still had to wait the estimated delivery time plus before the sent out replacements - and a $25 gift token. Meanwhile I had used a $45 "refund" from EverBuying towards a set of 4 Mars motors - which arrived sooner than expected and are perfect! The only other order I completed with them was for batteries and spare props from a defective Syma X8W.
My opinion is that anything returned as defective is sent out again - as was my Syma - broken seals - on it and later my Devo 10 - indicated. It may well be that these items were purchased elsewhere and returned by stores eBay sellers etc - and either "repaired" and sold out in bulk in an "as seen" condition. In China there are no Consumer laws to prevent this or protect those who end up with them.
The law of averages will kick in and some people will get items that are OK and have no issues - as would I if my only orders had been the two which were OK.
In fairness to EverBuying - they did give me a full refund of $140.36 paid for the Syma - but only after around 6 weeks of to and from "ticket" messages and lots of arguing for return to Paypal- which they will not do. However, one delivery of value under $10 never arrived and I had to wait 8 weeks or more and only after I opened PP dispute they I get credit to PayPal.
They create bad customer relation - so they must accept bad reviews and threads like this in many forums.
As an aside I purchased a lipo from an eBay seller "Yigounet" which states the item location as a Sydney based store - my PP payment went to " Hassan" who is in some way involved with EverBuying and possible the other stores. The battery had - still has - a faulty cell - I got a refund - from Hassan! From PP refund notice:- Seller Hassan customerservice645@gmail.com
An amazing coincidence that I should dip into eBay and actually pick a seller who is in some way connected to this eBay store and EverBuying!
The difference is.. with eBay there is buyer protection - with China based sellers online - its Russian Roulette.

I was under the impression that online reviewers like qc101 Always receive items from the first batches... hence new releases before the chance of defective products getting back into circulation...

The L6052 i received from gearbest had slight scratches on One or two of the props, and one of the main spur gears had some particle stuck in preventing free rotation.. maybe qc issue maybe coincidence, maybe a return... i had to find and clean the gear before flying it...

Unless I write otherwise - what I write is my own opinion and I do not claim to be always 100% factually right - its an opinion.
With regard anything to do with the online Chinese cheap toy and electronics stores - who mostly were up and running before quads started to get affordable and available... I am a skeptic when it comes to their "customer services".
I cannot believe that an internal order for a free issue product - intended for a youTube or other "social media" facility - will be sent down to the warehouse/goods out department and left to the whims of a shelf picker. Even if it was so - would we or the store really expect QC101 and or any of the others - being a recipient of a lump of junk - take time to make a video and mention all the negatives?? Its hardly in the stores interest to have popular reviewers showing defective items is it?? So my opinion is - they are tested before being sent out.
As for new releases being fault free....sorry but in my opinion - new models are more likely to have "bugs" and would doubly need to pre-shipping inspected and checked - even mighty Apple fall victim to that.

I know I'm digging up this thread but I'd like to be honest and add a little balance to the discussion.
I've been trying to order batteries for my X5C-1 from Gearbest and I kept hitting a brick wall with the shipping options, as in they didn't give me any on the order screen. This left me scratching my head.
I opened an enquiry and I was told that 'the item can not be sent your country due to some product features.'
I asked what the specific problem was as I'd actually ordered and received batteries from them before. I'm waiting for a reply.
Anywho, I had a brainstorm (rare for me) and changed the warehouse distribution option from EU to China and hey presto, shipping options appeared on my check out screen and the order was successfully placed. The batteries actually worked out cheaper!

Not a massive problem I know but a problem none the less and one that made me consider buying elsewhere.

It is getting more complicated for some stores to sell Lipo's - they need secure shipping and it puts the cost up.
Loathe as I am to say this... but try HobbyKing - who will charge almost as much or more than a 4000mah lipo in shipping charges. BUT , you can sometimes get a good deal on Tirnigy and
MultiStar.
Its only the cheapo stores like Gearbest who offer free shipping - but I did a check on teh Emax website for ESCs - $9.34 each - BangGood was asking $12.50 - so teh free shipping was in the cost.

Never ever order anything frm gearbest. Never. Banggood is a way better option.(keep in mind my product from banggood came a little smacked in shipping but its fine.) Another option is ebay. Just pay the shipping u know. Saves u money, stress of not recieving ur product. Hope this helps.

Hmmm, just received my first order from gearbest. Well packaged and arrived in less than 2 weeks to Canada. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. However I will take note of the previous discussion and order from banggood when possible.
