SYMA X8G FPV CONVERSION

I'm going to buy a Syma x8g because it's the only cheap quad with a good camera, but... It's not fpv. I'm planning on installing a cheap wifi fpv system to act as a viewfinder for it, but I don't know where to find cameras that will connect to my phone. If I can't find one (please link below if you have) I will just buy a syma x5sw and create a fpv camera module out of it, but that seems like a waste so I'd rather not. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Google the Yuneec CGO1, it is 5.8 ghz so you will have to have a newer 2 band phone, I use a note 3, the 5.8 ghz is a must so as not to interfere with your 2.4 ghz transmitter. The camera is only 2 MP but works great, I have flown it many times on my Syma X8W, you will need to get gimbal mount and camera holder. The software for the CGO1 is great and the camera has onboard SD card for recording.

Thank you for the rapid response... Will this work in conjunction with the default camera on it? I was just going to strap it on so j know what the good camera is looking at while I fly, will it be to heavy?

You will not need 2 cameras, the CGO1 is transmitting FPV to your phone and you can record video or take photos by using the the app and these are stored on the cameras SD card. 117 grams total weight the X8W carries it with no problem. See the attached photo for my setup.

Also, the X8W is equipped with a WiFi FPV Camera as standard but it transmitts on 2.4 ghz same as transmitter and this is just asking for interference problems and there are a few you tube videos expressing this, that is why I use the CGO1.

Oh! I didn't know that that camera could do both simultaneously, definitely no need for two then. May I ask what gimbal/mounting system you're using and what you did with the other camera?

Yeah, you're right. Also the camera on the x8w is utterly deplorable.

Also, I see by your photo that you put the cgo1 on a x8w, should I buy a lower price x8 (like maybe the x8c) and put the camera on that one, or is the x8g designed for heavier cameras?

Did you watch the vid? The camera has it's own small LiPo in it just like the screen.
I'm sorry, I'm on mobile and the wifi at the hotel I am in is... Sub-par. The video quality was such that all I could really tell was a cable coming out (I thought that was for power, it's for record instructions etc). But, yes now that I know that it has its own power, that's what I'll be doing. Thank you!
