Hi guys after getting a syma x5sc for Christmas I started watching videos on YouTube and one thing led to another and I decided I wanted to build my first quad copter. So I did a lot of reading up searching through forums and watching build videos on YouTube and decided to start buying some stuff I come from an r/c car background so although this is all new to me I do have experience in soldering etc. Anyway here's some of the kit I've bought:

Q450 quad frame from hobbyking £10.16
Afro 20amp esc's with multistar 2216-800kv motors combo £69.99
Kk 2.1 hard case control board £15.74
10x4.5 props 4green 4black £3.76
Turnigy 2200mah 30c 3s battery pack £8.96
Turnigy led low voltage alarm £6.60
Xt 60 charge lead, servo leads.

I'm yet to buy a transmitter package as I'm unsure on what's the best one to get in regards to being beginner friendly I was thinking of the turnigy 9xr or the Spektrum dx6i please point me in the right direction with this.

So that's what I've got so far if anyone could give me any advice on the build I appreciate the input I'll keep my post updated when I'm doing the build and post some pics cheers.

Turnigy 9Xr is good but if you think you are going to do long range I suggest you get either a Turnigy 9XR pro or Spektruim Dx7.

Your battery could be a bit bigger if you wished, and if you are buying from HK be sure to buy from the closest warehouse.

Thanks for the advise, I'll be ordering from the U.K. Hobbyking warehouse the last package came within 2 days so was really quick for the time of year.
