Nubee here-Just received my H5C and can not keep bird facing in one direction-keeps wanting to move in a circle to left. Any advice out there? Will try to get a video of what it is doing.
Appreciate any help. Windless day.
Just keeps spinning (slowly) wide circle.
Check the issue out on youtube:

Looks like a weak motor or you didnt do the gyro synchronization.

Put it on a very level surface, turn on the quad, wait for the lights to go from fast to slow blink...then turn on the transmitter.
Push the throttle all the way up then all the way down ( the quad should now be linked to the transmitter)
Next, pull BOTH sticks down to the lower right corners. The lights on the X5C-1 should go into a fast blinking.
Hold the sticks in the lower right corners until the blinking stops.
You have successfully calibrated the gyros.

Try it again. If good, you're done.

If not.......
Re check that all props are spinning the correct way. Like a fan, they must spin so that they blow DOWNWARD.

Check to be sure all props spin freely.

If you were to post a video from DIRECTLY above the quad while slowly advancing the throttle a few times
I could probably see the bad motor. (If that's the issue).

Mine arrived with one motor completely not working. I opening it up and found a motor wire completely hanging loose.
Quick and easy fix. Been flying great ever since.

It is possible that it's the transmitter but I doubt it. Read the manual on how to TRIM the controls.
Make sure none are trimmed all the way in one direction.

The last possibility is a bad controller board. They're about $10.
WELL worth the replacement if necessary.

Hey Patton---Thanks--I think it is a weak motor. I have removed the suspect motor and then realized my extra motors do not have the little pinion gear on the end (I have some on order). I somewhat tried to pry the gear off the suspect motor and it did not budge. I did perform the other tasks you mentioned.

Patton,
Also it was stated somewhere that these jjrc h5c-a motors were 8mm---mine are 7mm. I did purchase both, but was disappointed when the motor compartment will accept only the 7mm motors. I am going back and forth with the seller about this quad--was suppose to be the white transmitter-they shipped the black and no mention of headless function on the directions.

The X5SC-1 has headless mode. But not the X5C-1

If you plan to move up to better drones, you'll do yourself a favor learning to fly without headless mode. The feeling of being able to fully control a quadcopter in full manual mode instills a LOT of confidence that can get you out of jams that ends in crashes for others.

A weak motor will do it. Please let us know if that fixes it.

You got the older version then, the black TX is one clue. The CF version has headless and the 0820 motors.

Who did you buy from?

@ Patton

This is a JJRC H5C, not a syma.

I think you may have to pull sticks down and to the LEFT to reset. Does it say in the manual?

Bought this from AliExpress-Seller is Welldone Technology Co.

Ordered the new version ==they sent the old version.

Far as I know, they are exact clones other than decals and the transmitter. Are there other differences? The one MJS has would be a clone of the X5SC (with headless mode)

MJS....
Sounds like ole Murphy got you this time. Probably a bad controller board.

Don't get rid of it....
