Wifi problem

Hello I have a cheaper drone and I downloaded app for it. When I connect through wifi to my drone it writes on my screen "video connection fail, check your internet connection". How I can fix it?

Is the drone specified as an input device to your WiFi? Also, what receiver are you using? Also, why are you using WiFi? That's a short range solution as far as I know.

Did you connect to the internet via your phone? Since the app is apparently using a WiFi interface through a service and not your home WiFi, the connection should be honored. There may be a restriction with your internet provider that needs to be overcome. Other than that, I am at a loss as to why you are experiencing the problem. Perhaps another forum member has some ideas that may help you. Reach to to them, especially RENOV8TOR.

I doubt it uses the internet for the connection. The drone has a wifi transmitter that transmits the video out to the phone.

Adrian - I'm assuming you went into your phones "settings", turned on "wifi", and connected to the drone. Does the phone acknowledge the connection to the drone? What drone are you working with?

I work with 8807W drone. My mobile says "internet maybe is not avaliable" but I tried with 3 phones already and always same problem. But what if it uses internet for connection? How to fix it?

Connecting remote control with mobile devices (If your drone device supports this Function)

1. Turn on the remote control

2. Switch on the RC drone

3. Turn on the Wi-Fi on the mobile device, and then wait for about 30 seconds. Select the corresponding UAV product name ID from the Wi-Fi list (Please see the instruction booklet), and enter the default connection password (Please see the instruction booklet).

4. Open the corresponding APP on the mobile device, enter the relevant operation screen. You will see a real-time camera preview screen after successful connection, which indicates that the remote controller and the mobile device are successfully connected.

:rolleyes: ... Oh, by the way, internet and WiFi are two different things.
The internet is, well, the internet ... lol ... while WiFi is simply a means of communication.
Just because lot's of people use WiFi to access the internet doesn't mean that
WiFi can't be used for communication with things OTHER THAN INTERNET,
like linking toy quads for example. Don't confuse one with the other, a WiFi link
between your phone and the quad has nothing at all to do with the internet ;)

It's possible that your android device just won't support this app. Do you have another phone or tablet you can try?

You should also try putting your phone in airplane mode, then turn on Wi-Fi, and scan for Wi-Fi signals. If you don't see the controller Wi-Fi turn the controller off and then back on. The phone will then see the Wi-Fi signals and connect. I know this seems like a long process but it only takes a minute or so.

It still dont work, maybe just camera dont work because I connect with wifi to drone or controller and when I enter the app it writes "drone video fail" or something like that

All I could fly was LOS for maybe fifteen years ... lol ... but that was because back then there was
no such thing, eventually it became possible (but not practical) if you had a fortune to spend on it;
in fact you could spend over $1,000.00 on just your servos and radio gear ! :eek:
By the eighties prices were coming down and you could even afford proportional control ! Fancy shmancy.

I've always maintained orientation by imagining myself as a tiny pilot in whatever it was I was flying anyway.
So once FPV became practical, after getting used to it, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'll still fly LOS every now and then just for the heck of it, but I luvs flying FPV. ;)
