Transmitter to control the RTF, toy quads?

My questions are about the flysky type transmitters and rtf quads like symas. I'd like to use a better Tx for my rtf quads, but don't know enough about what's involved yet.
* Will a something like a flysky i6 pair with a syma type rtf quad?
* Will the FS Tx only pair with the FS supplied receiver?
In other words, will I need to install the flysky Rx in a quad to use the flysky Tx?
* What about BNF quads?
I'm hoping for some education on this topic. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi you need to know the protocol of the quads to start off also a lot of the toy quads have the receivers built in the board so you can not add a receiver, this why a lot of the guys jump into building them

I haven't tried it but looks intriguing. There are also cheaper options if you search banggood for multi protocol modules.

Just got a T16 a few weeks back and can't complain so much better than my dx6i really puts it to shame. This one looks great too just went with the T16 since I'd seen reviews of it had to buy from hobbywing though (first time buying there, good experience though), because was out of stock everywhere.

Another vote for the T8SG. It will fly almost everything, toy grade and up. Fantastic range, great battery life, very nice gimbals. For me there was a bit of a learning curve since it was my first "real" programmable transmitter, but now I can take any of my quads to the park but only need the one transmitter. I have a whole box full of the old RTF transmitters out in the garage.
