Interesting for sure I like that it is basically just a dumb display and doesn't have too much whizz bang built into it, wish TV manufacturers would give us that option too. I've had some hands on with a MS hololense that is a similar "Augmented Reality" head mounted display (some people at work let me play with one when they were doing a project with a handful of them for some demo stuff)... it is very very cool and if this is anything like the display from MS it was pretty awesome how opaque the images can be over reality. Only "extra" I think this ought to include beyond the display is IMU for head tracking but then can offload all the compute to a separate computer IMO, I think MS is doing some if not all of it on the headset and it's kinda huge. I definitely see the use cases outside of FPV too but do wish we had some goggles that I could use for VR and for FPV, seems silly to not include a second video decoder in them if they already carry a second display (think that's where more of the cost is but :shrugs: )
