An interesting note. I changed out all of the motors to the 2212 920KV DJI motors and and the DJI30A ESCs. In this configuration with these motors it seems to have a tad bit less lifting power than the what came with the SD6 but I am getting way better flight times with a smaller battery. Before I had a 5500mah battery and would get about 6:30 - 7 minutes. Now I'm using the turnigy blue 5000 and get 8 minute + flights without running it under 3.7v / cell. The motors also run way cooler, no heat issues at all. Flies great.

Thanks for the info Holtneil. I had figured that out after landing and seeing the voltage jump from 3.7 to 3.8 not under a load. I had set the alarm to 3.6 while flying and still get 8 minute flights. I'll try it at 3.5 today and see what the voltage is when I land it.

On another important note, you don't want to charge a LiPo in a cold environment and take to a warmer environment. This causes it to react in a way that it will catch fire if charged to full. Many Lipo chargers have a storage setting, but you can simply a just your voltage alarm to tell you when it is at 3.7.
I agree, my next upgrade/quad will be a Y6. I really like that I'd only have to buy two more motors to get some redundancy.
