Storm Drone 6 Questions

That is funny stuff there.

An interesting note. I changed out all of the motors to the 2212 920KV DJI motors and and the DJI30A ESCs. In this configuration with these motors it seems to have a tad bit less lifting power than the what came with the SD6 but I am getting way better flight times with a smaller battery. Before I had a 5500mah battery and would get about 6:30 - 7 minutes. Now I'm using the turnigy blue 5000 and get 8 minute + flights without running it under 3.7v / cell. The motors also run way cooler, no heat issues at all. Flies great.
 
Hi the 3.7 v is at rest I know a few that set the alarm to 3.5v loaded so thats about right at rest , remember if your not flying for a while store charge at 3.7v a cell
 
Thanks for the info Holtneil. I had figured that out after landing and seeing the voltage jump from 3.7 to 3.8 not under a load. I had set the alarm to 3.6 while flying and still get 8 minute flights. I'll try it at 3.5 today and see what the voltage is when I land it.

I was told to store it at 3.8v?

Yeah, you want 3.85 volts per cell is supposed to be ideal. The voltage wrote on your pack should be store voltage. My 3S has 11.1 volts on the side and charges at full to a little over 12. 11.1/3 = 3.7
 
Hi mate its 3.7v a cell but 3.8 will be ok , the store voltage will stop the lipo damaging its self ,this is why we dont leave at a full charge ,The battery eats its self chemical change
 
On another important note, you don't want to charge a LiPo in a cold environment and take to a warmer environment. This causes it to react in a way that it will catch fire if charged to full. Many Lipo chargers have a storage setting, but you can simply a just your voltage alarm to tell you when it is at 3.7.
