Will keep looking for VR headset and keep everyone posted. Any thoughts on headsets would be great.
Remember, just because you wear glasses does not mean you are necessarily relegated to only using a "box style" headsets.
The "Fat Shark" types (as Moz puts it) do have diopter lenses that can be inserted to correct vision, but they are also made for 5.8 GHz.
Since your quad is wi-fi based the "box style" (and using your phone) IS a reasonable choice, that being said, imho
it's all about the optics.
IPD (interpupillary distance) does play an important factor in your ability to comfortably view the screen with ANY goggles. Check your eyeglasses
prescription for information that will help you decide if the goggles you're considering have the ability to compensate (for both IPD & focusability)
adequately unless it's explicitly stated that they can be comfortably used while wearing your prescription eyeglasses.
Fresnel lenses (often used for magnification) and/or focusing lenses in these types are typically cheap plastic which are easily scratched and
also introduce distortions, especially around the periphery. This can make reading any narratives on the displays very difficult.
MY recommendation would be these goggles made by Zeiss. The company is renowned for their quality optics and have a set of goggles
(which I've just recently found) that supposedly do not even require any adjustability. They are specifically designed to be used with phones
and can later be modified (by using a receiver and screen) to work well with 5.8 GHz systems as well (which you'll likely advance to as you progress
in this hobby) and you can wear them while using your prescription eyeglasses.
My pick for Fat Shark styled goggles are "Aomway Commanders".
For your needs though, I suggest the "VR One Plus".
