Lumenier QAV-XS

[RENOV8R]

I've been wanting to try an AIO FC/ESC/OSD for a while and with everyone doing super complicated builds and super lightweight builds, I thought I'd do a super simple build with a clean look and a minimum of parts.

I'm using my favorite frame the Lumenier QAV-XS, so even though there's a minimum of parts, it won't be a lightweight as the Lumi's got a fair bit of heft to it at 91 grams. Beautiful frame though with high-quality hardware and chamfered edges.The only downfall to this frame is that I really wanted to use the Runcam Split but it simply will not fit. Period. (No problem, just gives me an excuse for another build).

Any how, parts are as follow:

Radiolink R6DS RX
IRC Tramp HV VTX
TBS Triumph Stubby VTX antenna

RMRC Strix 5 X 4.5X 3 props
R-Line 4S 1300mah 95C lipos

Pretty cool how far Betaflight has come in the last year. The Asgard is actually inverted and rotated 90 degrees clockwise so to be oriented to my liking and instead of a bunch of trial & error and rerouting wires, it was just a matter of configuring board to pitch =180 & yaw = 90, resource remap to switch motors 2 & 3, and reverse a couple motors in BLHeli. And yes, I'm still using Radiolink but hey, the R6DS fits perfectly between the front standoffs.

Yeah - I'm not judging the motor colors - but that chamfered frame and those braided cable covers make it pop.

VTX is mounted and wiring harness done. I decided to use the micro plug to run the video through the Asgard for OSD instead of hard-wiring, it'll make it easier to remove the top plate. I switched the Tramp for a Lumenier TX5G2R vtx and it's connected directly to VBat so fpv system isn't drawing any power from the Asgard. Pretty simple stuff.

Geez, just realized I haven't updated this in a while. Anyhow, jut a couple little bugs to work out such as where I'm going to mount the receiver antenna and still fiddling with the location of the external buzzer. But I did burn a couple batteries in my backyard on the weekend and I must say that these BrotherHobby motors are extremely smooth and powerful. I'm just running BF 3.2.5 with dynamic filter, notch 1 & 2 disabled and PT1 filter and default pids and it already feels pretty locked in, don't think I'm going to have to change much. Bad news is we've got rain forecast off and on for the next 7 days
