Jjrc h8d motor

Hey guys I'm new to this forum. I have the jjrc h8d and one of my motors went bad. It's not stuck because when I give it throttle I can turn the prop and it will start to spin and then stop. My question is are there any better motors out there that I can put on my h8d? I don't want to get the original motors and have it go out 2 weeks later. Any help is much appreciated.

The brushed motors are typically hit and miss with burning up...you can get one that lasts 50 flights and then again one that lasts 5 flights...Its just a throw of the dice...There isnt much difference really in these brushed motors other than KV ratings...Some are designed for use with geared motors and some better suited to direct drive.

If you have a problem with the same side motor burning up all the time its probably more of a flight board issue or maybe the gears or shafts are binding more than the others creating more amp draw from the motor and burning it out much quicker...These arent maintenance free assemblies...Proper cleaning and lubrication to keep things running smoothly is a must.

Yea this is the first time it went on me. Would a hubsan h107d motor work for the h8d? I saw a video on YouTube that some guy said that it might work. Any thoughts on it?

Hubsan motors are used in direct drive applications...Something from a similar designed geared set up would probably be more suited.

Honestly i would just get a replacement motor from jjrc and see what happens...Its certainly not uncommon to replace motors on just about any quad no matter who makes it.

Also consider when replacing one motor after 2 weeks of use the other motors have been used the same period of time..So when you replace one motor expect one of the others to go out maybe sooner...I love the entry price of these toy quads but keeping one going is where these companies are making there money from..Motors and props have to be the number 1 and 2 items sold..maybe batteries next.

Its not bad to invest in these items up front to save on down time, especially if ordering for less from china.

Perfect thank you very much for your help. I am going to take it apart tonight and see what's going on.

As far as lubrication goes what actually needs to be lubricated? And what would be the best type of lubrication to use? Sorry I'm all new to this lol

When you start to see the gears turning black you just diassemble and clean them up with some soap and water and maybe a little tooth brush..Most of the shafts run through bushings as well..just wipe them out clean...You may want to check on a bearing upgrade to replace the bushings...i think some of the WL Toys models use bearings that you can also use for yours.

I would say almost anything thats not petroleum based should work...Dry lube is better however to not attract dirt.

Some like to use dry graphite lube on the gears as it doesnt attract dirt.

Ive seen some buy pencil lead and shave it or crush it into a powder and brush it on the gears.

Just keep it all clean is the main concern...one grain of sand can cause all sorts of issues..Also many find hair and grass strings wrapped around motor shafts and gears...Just periodic checks and maintenance can go along way to keeping it running smooth.

Perfect I do have the quadcopter disassembled and I ordered 4 motors. The gears are dirty so I will for sure clean those up. I will do a bearing upgrade soon. I herd Boca bearings are pretty good.

They are..ive used them for rc car bearings and nitro motor bearings..Just a bit expensive..lol

Those are the ones that I saw on amazon. 9 bucks plus 2 dollars for shipping. Which I will most likely order them from amazon

That teflon dry lube would work on the gears...i would still use acer for the bearings though.
