Flysky i6 and fs-ia6 problems

hi, im like one week into this space, and have already built myself a cheap tyro99 from banggood. it came with an flysky fs-i6 tx and a fs-ia6 rx. the reciever i already understand is some outdated ****, but before i order a new one, i want too see if i at least can fly this until it arrives. my problem is i am not getting any input from any of the sticks in betaflight. it shows the 3d model and all motors are spinning but i cant get it to actually recieve the inputs.
i search all of youtube and google and found out that i have propably just connected via the plastic pin on the fc to SBUS, but i understand i need IBUS. would it work if i resoldered things ? i am leaving some pics, so hopefully someone can tell me where i need to solder what in order to connect it to ibus instead. i am pretty sure this is my last hickup since i feel like everything is working but the reciever.

You need to solder the right two jumper pads together, set your uart for serial reciever in the betaflight ports tab, then go to the configuration tab and click serial reciever then click ibus in the dropdown box. Be sure and click save and reboot after every step.

Yes. Need to make sure those two are connected to get ibus to work. I've recently done the tyros 79 and 69, their boards had the same jumper pads.

@Dugdog47 i tried soldering the two pads now, but i still wont work. what am i missing ? i tried setting all different uarts to serial rx and my configuration is set to serial-based reciever and ibus. any ideas ?

Did you bind your reciever to your tx?

i suppose yes. well, the rx is blinking when not connected, and when i turn on the tx it goes solid. i also see info about the rx on the screen itself

Okay you are close.

Did you go into the settings on the tx and set aux 5 as switch A and aux 6 as switch C?

Then on the reciever tab on betaflight you should also see movement when you move your sticks.

Bingo! That particular reciever only works in ppm mode:

only thing he really did that i have not already tried was to set ppm to "on" on the transmitter. still same thing. how likely is it that this rx is dead ? the one in the video is even a newer model than this one i got here is without a "b" in the end. looks slightly different. can you tell me if the pin in the rx is positioned as it should? i saw in the video it looked slightly different, but idk.

Get the fsx6b, best there is for flysky

Oh that's right flysky can work with 2 different protocols if it's an old reciever you might need afdhs mode.
