Cell Tower Effects on Control of DJI

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has encountered negative effects on control if flying close to cell phone towers I mean like within 2-5 feet using DJI P3Pro.

I have an opportunity to due some inspections of various towers for corrosion ect..., everything I have read says it's a no - Hell no. Not sure what the actual Ghz and or EMT (Electromagnetic Transmission) of a tower is don't want to be the first to find out

No issues with a p4 and an inspire so I don't think you will have any issues.

Hi mate if its microwave I would say No ,these towers are powered down when the guys climb then to work on the them , in the videos of tower climbs I am sure they used a quad but the tower i think it may had been powered off you can always ask them

but not this one he used a gopro on his helmet

I had a friend, when I was younger and stupider, who invited me to climb with him a 975 foot transmission tower and help him service the beacons. All I had to do was carry his 40 pound tool bag and lamps. All I had to do was go up the 750 feet in an elevator the size of a large paint can holding on to to framework of the tower and then with a rope he had, send up the tools and the lamps as he needed them. Being absolutely stupid, I actually did that. Today, I would know better, especially because I did that with him every couple of months to change them damned lamps that would go out at the most inconvenient of times. Of course, he paid me $500.00 each time I helped him. I know he got a whole lot more than that for each climb. I stopped after about the 6th time because I had some damned bird crash into my helmet, almost took off one of my ears and left me dangling by my safety harness for about a half an hour, waiting for my buddy to come down and retrieve me. Talk about a "crap your pants moment..." I quit!

Omg you was lucky I know guys that when hanging the poison will build up in there legs and when released gave them a heart attack and had to be resuscitated

Cell phone frequencies are:

1) 824-896 MHz commonly termed 800 MegaHertz (may also be known as 850MHz)

(2) 1850MHz-1990MHz commonly termed 1900 MegaHertz or 1.9 GigaHertz

Although the FCC permits an effective radiated power (ERP) of up to 500 watts per channel (depending on the tower height), the majority of cellular or PCS cell sites in urban and suburban areas operate at an ERP of 100 watts per channel or less.

Not an expert on quads, but if you were to fly within feet of an actual cell antenna that was transmitting at 100 watts. Your quad radio receiver would be completely overloaded and stop functioning and probably kaput! You could fly close to the tower just stay away from antennas.
