Antenna help, a quick question.

SPMAR6210.jpg Hi the symbols are for signal /live/earth so you know what way to plug leads in the lightest colour wire is always signal , the bind plug goes in to the first set of pins it will sat bind/bat , then plug the esc in to throttle to power it all up
red is bind ,yellow is throttle so plug in an ESC off the quad to power this up green is the signal pins so lightest colour wire goes to this pin

After that it is just 5V+ positive and 5v-.

Positive is almost always in the middle to keep you from shorting the rx.
 
Tried to get it started with the start up procedure (sticks middle then down and in) nothing. The RX doesn't have any lights on at all.

I've moved everything around and cleaned everything, then re plugged it all back in. But still the same. Both sat receiver and the RX just stay flashing.


Cool, my bind plug is fine then. Good to know.
Shall I plug the ESC directly into the throttle input on the RX, cutting out the naza unit?
At least with all this I've learned a lot of what goes where on this thing. Haha.

By doing this remember that the motors will spin up if connected, so as always: NO PROPS
 
Cool, I guess this may have been a stupid thing me thinking the throttle is the throttle. I'll give it a go in a min a report back.

Hahahaha, I suppose if one were able to think, and react as fast as a computer along with being able to recognize minute changes in the craft's position it would be possible to fly without a flight controller hahahaha.

Where is Arnold Schwarzenegger when you need him?
 
Ok just make sure the esc you are using has power if its an opto your have to use a bec or another ESC even an old spare one it you have one
 
So, no change.
The ESC have a green light on them so I assume they have power?
The lights are still flashing.
I think I might have read somewhere that this RX isn't compatible with the tx. Not sure what that meant, as it worked before today. Will have a look and check.

Unfortunately, I don't have any spares yet. Fairly new to this hobby.
 
is the Rx PPM(PPMSUM and CPPM are other names for it), PWM, PCM, or SBUS?

It should be PWM, but if it is PPM then you may have to set your flight controller to PPM

George will a 0.5amp Bec be enough to run this ? any way here is a manual it may help and your running the DX6I so it will work spot on my feeling is the Bec is not going to be powerful enough the NazaM eats power you need to run a good BEC to power it all , get this one to power receiver and NazaM

if you pull the wire from ESC to motor one plug this direct into the receiver throttle channel then plug in the bind lead in to bind port and try and bind ,Also set up new model on the transmitter , Now as the afro is only giving 0.5 of an amp dont have any thing else plugged in to the PDB so you may have to pull all wires from the NazaM so there is nothing pulling power from the system
 
Cool, so if I understand it correctly...
The ESc powers the naza unit and that then powers the receiver? So the ESC I have doesn't have enough power to give the receiver full 5v that it needs to bind properly/ give me great range when it was bound?
Is the bec built into the afro ESC?
OK, SK motor one pulled from the back of the naza unit straight into throttle port on RX. And also pull all other motor connection from the PDB?

Thanks guys. This is odd that it was working OK then not. The guy who built it may have known something but I can't contact him now.
 
I have a battery from my UDI quad that's 3.7v. Any way I could use that to power the RX enough to bind?
 
Try plugging the ESC directly into the receiver on any channel, then plug the bind pin in. This should guarantee that you have enough power.


As always: PROPS OFF
 
Just done that, its doing the same thing. I'm starting to think it could be my dx6i some how? Any way I can test this?

RX is just sat there flashing. Doh!!

IDK how you can test it without a few tools that I am sure you don't have.

You might contact the seller, you'll need a video.

Make 100% sure it is not already bound, plug an ESC and motor into the throttle channel (should be 3), with NO PROPS and try it.
 
Battery direct to ESC with motor connected plugged in to the throttle input of the RX. No movement at all. I assume I don't need a start up procedure like I would if that naza was connected?

Running out of parts left to test.
I can't contact the seller as the deal went a bit sour after I got the quad. Battery charger that was in the deal didn't work and he wouldn't help with a replacement.
