Here is a link to the MiniX. It would be ideal for your build;

You should be able to find a distributor there. I think it's there home base......maybe.....possibly.
Yeah. I made a typo. 2216-900kv, not 980kv. Sorry about that. You are right about Tiger motors. Very nice. As you noticed with T Motor ESC's and all the other better brands do not come with BEC's. Someone smarter than me will have to tell you why. I have learned to avoid buying quad parts on price alone. Here is my list of favorite's that I feel I have gotten exactly what I paid for. Lowest I will go is SunnySky motors and ZTW spyder ESC's and Castle UBEC. The middle for me is T Motor motors and S series ESC's and Castle UBEC. My primo is KDE Direct motors and ESC's and UBEC. I have only been able to afford 1 set of these, but they are beyond amazing!! For controllers, 2nd is XAircraft MiniX w/ GPS and OSD. 1st is XAircraft Super X which comes complete and has some of the most accurate accelerometers, altimeter, barometer etc. in the industry. This list is strictly my opinion. I spent many hundreds of dollars in the beginning replacing all the cheap Chinese crap I bought then because it was junk. Since I started adhering to my list I have not had a single parts failure. I guess my point is to use care when assembling your parts list. There are good products out there at reasonable prices. You just have to persevere. Most important point on the build is to make sure you have fun!!
Is this at AU$115 the same as you link to? price seems at odds with your link converting exchange rates to AU$
Found on eBay in my price range. included shipping where applicable
Devo 7 au$130 I can collect this from our Woolworths or Big W stores within 5 days.
Apart from DEVO 7 - all are on eBay from China/HK and 3 weeks delivery seems to be expected.
I would still need to find a quick delivery for a receiver!! So if I have to wait from China - there is no convenience factor involved in any choice....
Opinions??
Taranis? In my list above you can see a price bracket forming. I am on a budget basically so although with DSLRs I have always bought the best I could afford - and now have 3 and a wack of lenses doing nothing in a cupborard - I am looking more at what a radio can do for what I anticipate I would use it. I am never going to end up with 10 or 20 kit quads stacked up. The Taranis - for now - is outside my budget. My wife is still giving me earache about paying au$2500 for a Phantom 3 Pro and messing about with "kids toys from China"!Although I have no hands on experience with any of those, I have seen posts online describing erratic quality control for FlySky. The Devo and Turnigy radios each have their following and overall seem to be pretty good. I think they both are compatible with Lemon Rx's. Others on the forum should know more about that. Have you given up on Taranis, Spektrum etc.? Buying a radio is like buying tools; a long term investment.
I don't see a link to the Aus store... musta forgot to past! http://www.xaircraftaustralia.com.au/xaircraft-minix-fc-module/ yesterday got fraught! The price makes sense because I believe their home base is Australia.
ringalong is dead on! I remember that post and thinking how glad I am I don't have to deal with that crap anymore. When you read a review on Youtube that recommends buying a couple extra motors and ESC's so you won't have to wait on shipping when they fail.....RUN!! Save up. Buy the good stuff and enjoy the hobby.
Mark Twain mode: IN 1997 we moved into a new home and decided to get more "modern" furniture. We have a big kitchen with a "nook" where we could have a small table - but enough for us and our daughter to eat -informally.Understand. Have not heard anything negative about Devo operating well. Sounds like you're about to be a Devo(tee)..... Sorry. I have to learn better control. Sorry for that one too....Hahaha!!
Sorry. Sorry. 2216 900kv is what I meant to type. They tell me the second thing to go is your mind. I don't remember the first...........
Been looking at all the options on motors and costs.... heads spinning faster than props!
What size /type battery is Ok for this size of motor? The guy in the shop with the T-Motors suggests - 4s 10c 5400Mah @au$110 +shipping.
Not able to find any Sunnysky 2212 900kv, Hobbyking have these...

Using the logic that Turnigy seem to be decent gear.....I have them sat in a cart.
Am I OK with these?

I, personally, am not a fan of Turnigy/Multistar motors and ESC's. They are built to a price point. My experience with them has been marginal at best. They are built to a price point. I bought some early on and they are part of the reason I only buy quality parts now. I'll save up and wait before buying lesser quality. A couple months ago HK put the Quanum Venture ARF on sale. In a moment of weakness I bought one. It uses the motors you are looking at and Afro ESC's. Two things I have noticed after a few flights; The motors are inefficient and not particularly strong. The ESC's begin to shut down after a series of rapid throttle changes. Very frustrating. I will change them out this winter. This is only my opinion. Others on the forum may have a different one. After experiencing how nice it is to use quality parts that work perfectly, I admit to being intolerant of the mediocre performance of the cheap stuff.
My oldest granddaughter calls me a "COB" ( crusty old biker). Maybe she's right. At least she says it with a smile......
