Still No Fly After 3 Months...

HEY TENTOES: Hey man...you were into G-SCALE big time! That was the most ambitious model railroad project I ever saw! Were they LGB locos? My first High Desert model railroad was a 150-foot indoor layout that went from my Game Room through a portal and into the 3rd car space of my garage and...

Still No Fly After 3 Months...

Hey Tentoes... When I'm involved in benchwork construction, no other hobby has room in my mind! I'm busy with cutting 2x4's, drilling holes for mounting brackets, cutting out curves in 4x8 panels, running down to Lowe's and Home Depot to buy more materials, etc. I won't have time for "silly"...

Still No Fly After 3 Months...

Hello, I've had my Hubsan H501S for 3 months today, and still haven't tried it out, even though I've had nice High Desert weather with several windless days at my 1 square mile of obstruction-free vacant land. Since I've begun construction of the benchwork for my 126-foot O-scale 2-rail Model...

Bigger TX Battery For Hubsan H501S

Hey RENOV8R, I didn't add a bigger battery to my Quad. As my post says, I added it to my TX. Hal

Bigger TX Battery For Hubsan H501S

I exchanged my Hubsan H501S TX 1300 Mah battery for a 2000 Mah battery. I Velcro'd it to the TX case. This should allow more flights before charging the TX battery. Hal

    Headless Mode (decapitated flying)

Hello, Do most of you use the headless mode, or do you prefer to keep your quad oriented to the same heading as when launched? Thanks, Hal

I was going to slit open the new tape to expose the arm vents...I'll do that now! HDH

    OK, OK...You Win!

Hey guys... Awhile back I showed a picture of my quad with "Hot Pink" tape identifying the forward arms. I was teased for this choice of color, so rather than being embarrassed by flying a "Gay Drone", I replaced the tape with a bright lime green. I hope this restores my Masculinity! HiDesertHal

    Bought my first proper Drone

Hey PatP, I also thought about adding the Range Extender, but being almost 82 years old and increasingly more cautious and conservative in all my activities, I decided to stick to the stock transmitter configuration, since I want to limit my flying to no more than 1/4 mile from the launch point...

MODEL RAILROADING WANTS MY ATTENTION AGAIN.....

Hey Tentoes: Since your railroad is an outdoor layout, I assume it's a G-Scale railroad. How long is the main run? Your low-angle photography makes the layout look very realistic! When I moved into my High Desert home 20 years ago, I had a 20' x 25' Game Room built, and this gave me room to...

Will my TX battery support 40 minutes of flight time?

Nyuk Nyuk! Forget the grid...I'm thinking of a gasoline-powered portable generator. Hal

Will my TX battery support 40 minutes of flight time?

Quad reviewer HungryDan has fastened a 2000 MAH lipo to the back of his Hubsan H501S Transmitter. He says he can get almost 10 flights with this battery. (I think that's an exaggeration, but it can certainly provide for more than 2 flights!) This is what I'm going to do; I've already ordered...

    Bought my first proper Drone

Hello PatP, I bought a Hubsan H501S and have had it for over a month, but have never flown it. I've ordered an extra flight battery and a higher-capacity TX battery. I may fly it sometime in April after it warms up here in the High Desert. I've been watching the many YouTube flights of this...

    Bought my first drone

Hey Imran, Welcome to the WhirlyBird Forum! I see you're 21...well, I'm 81, so we're practically twins! Let's visit a pub sometime and I'll buy you a Pint of Ale! Cheers, Guv... Hal

Will my TX battery support 40 minutes of flight time?

That's what I thought, LoneRCRanger, so I'm buying a bigger pack that won't fit in the TX battery compartment, and will attach it to the back of the TX. One of the Quad Reviewers did this, using a 2000 MAH lipo, attaching it with velcro. That's good...I like it! Hal
