    Just Ordered A Quad today!

Hey Forumites...this morning I was advised by Jackson to go ahead and order the Hubsan H501S X4 before there was a price increase, so I ordered one from Amazon. This is my 4th quadcopter, and my first with FPV. Prior to ordering, I read a lot of reviews and saw a few videos on the quad, and...

Illegal to Fly Over My Neighbor's Back Yard?

What about flying at an altitude that takes in a full city block, just so you can see how many swimming pools are in your neighborhood? That's not spying on any one property...is it? HiDesertHal

I see! The great Mojave Desert extends for 48,000 square miles and lies mostly in Southeastern California, but extends into Nevada, Arizona, and Utah as well. HiDesertHal

    Single-Shot Exposures From Continuous Video?

Hey Jackson...that link you provided answered my most important questions, so I ordered the Hubsan on Amazon for $219 including tax and shipping. The video looks just like the desert terrain outside my Apple Valley neighborhood! Hal

    Single-Shot Exposures From Continuous Video?

If I'm flying and I want to make a single shot of a scene appearing on my controller screen, how do I stop the continuous video stream so I could send the shot to the photo card? Then I would upload the card to my computer, select the scene, and print a photo. Thanks, HiDesertHal

    Recommendations for my next Quadcopter?

Hey Jackson, Since I'm a bit shaky at age 81, I would probably stick to the more forgiving GPS mode all the time, and I also prefer the standard model's larger screen. Also, I would feel paranoid if I let the quad fly more than 1/4 mile from my position. I'm more conservative in my elderly...

    Recommendations for my next Quadcopter?

Thanks Rick, but I've had a long-standing account with Amazon, and their shipping is fast with payment from my Visa. I agree that Jackson's second-mentioned model is preferable. For an extra $14, you get a larger screen, too. Hal

Thanks, guys! I've heard of the Hubsans. I'll check 'em out on Amazon, where I buy most of my non-edible items. Hal

Thanks, Jackson! I have 2 multimeters, one Analog and the other Digital. I spent 36 years as an Electrical Lab Test Engineer at Boeing, and I've handled many, many kinds of test instruments. I even have a Geiger Counter! I'm just asking what the Forum recommends for a quadcopter with camera...

    Recommendations for my next Quadcopter?

Hello, My first quadcopter was a simple unit without camera, which I tired of quickly and gave to my nephew, who crashed it without delay. My second bird had a camera, but did not transmit live video, but stored the images on a photo card, which I uploaded to my computer to see what the drone...
