    Tuning tutorials / videos ?

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has links to useful tuning videos and/or tutorials ? Maybe an idea to set up a sticky with some on it ? For a beginner like me, it's probably the most daunting area. I've not really had a try yet, though I did notice that my quad would lose height if I pitched...

yes it does, it's actually got a slight taper in it, so you can push it in till it's tight

I balanced my props ! Here's my makeshift rig - that's a trivet standing on 4 ramikins, and a sawn-off propelling pencil used as a hub, which fits perfectly.

hmm, I do have a dremel in the garage so could try that, but seems a little destructive - i'll try both ways on a couple of props, see which one I get on with

    weird crash

my quad's actually in Spain and I don't have internet connectivity there, so will be taking everything I need out on a memory stick - USBASP driver, flashtool, java updates, firmware zips etc. If it goes wrong, does the factory reset restore the original firmware, or do I just have to keep...

both were very quick actually - the txrx was ordered on Weds this week - there's a very good UK supplier, ships direct from stock. The props were ordered Monday this week from ebay - tomshoo2015. So i can't complain really. tx is a Flysky 6 channel FS-i6, fairly basic but will do for my needs...

stop press - my new txrx and carbon fibre props literally just arrived :D the tx makes the old one I've been using so far look like a museum piece

Lipo Batteries: Sources and Charging Methods

a lot of good info on this site, thanks very much guys. So 3.7v it is, and will charge my 2200mAh batteries at 2.2A (had been using 3A at random). I've got a lipo fireproof bag that they live in unless they're on the quad

    weird crash

got the Flashtool software working btw. Seems the Java autoinstall installed the wrong bit version, so I had to do it manually, choosing Windows Offline (64 bit) from here

    weird crash

will do. ESC's are calibrated, I've done the A+D buttons with throttle up then down thing. Motors all spin up at the same time.

    weird crash

not sure tbh, I'll have to watch more closely for next times it happens (or hopefully it doesn't)

    weird crash

gizmo duly ordered - had to find a UK equivalent, hopefully this one works. Does anyone know of any other software that can be used on the PC for the flashing ? I was playing with the /11/']KKMulticopter Flashtool last night but couldn't get it working with Java on my Windows 7 laptop last...

Lipo Batteries: Sources and Charging Methods

what is the correct charge to have when storing them for some time btw? I assume from your post that you don't store them with a full charge - can I store them as they are after a flight, so about 10.8-11v for a 3-cell ?

    weird crash

ahh that makes sense, I guess I should go through all the settings and calibrations again then. I was thinking about sticking some clear plastic or something over the top of the board so that stuff can't get in in future, but I'd have to leave a gap to get to the buttons I guess. Haven't...

    weird crash

So I had a strange crash the other day. I was about to lose control and crash into something, so did an emergency landing instead - wasn't very high, so the quad landed ok, the right way up, nothing broken, and I killed the throttle and got it into safe mode immediately. It landed in fairly...

newb hello, and a question about range

ahh that makes sense. I quite like doing horizontal runs as practice - fly it away from me as far as I can, then attempt to bank it round (well, wobble it round) and fly it back, and repeat, but there is a lot of ground vegetation/hill where I'm doing it so I guess that's affecting the reception.

newb hello, and a question about range

been doing a bit of googling, and looks clear that my old transmitter isn't up to the job, seems I should be getting a range of about 1km (don't think I could even see my quad a kilometer away...) So I'm looking at either the Flysky FSi6 2.4GHz 6CH or the Walkera/Devo 7CH. Any opinions on...
