Hi all,
I'm Stuart, and new to the hobby. I've got a stock kit from RadioC, one of these - http://www.radioc.co.uk/product-p/5501.htm
I spent the last week or so on holiday and learning to fly it every day - very enjoyable, worked my way through a big bag of props, and am slowly starting to get the hang of it.
I have a few questions, which I'll post up if I may.
First one is about the range I can expect. I'm using a very old txrx at the moment, (one of these - http://hitecrcd.com/products/aircra...ucts/laser-4-72mhz-4-channel-fm-radio/product ) which I've had for years and used for unrelated projects.
I think it might be way too low on the range I can get though - if I fly it to about 150-200m away then it starts to give the occasional beep and wobble (are these symptoms of out-of-range ?). Though oddly enough doesn't seem to mind too much for a similar vertical height.
What kind of range should I be able to expect with a decent rxtx, and any suggestions as to what to get ? I'd be looking for a reasonably priced 4 channel, maybe 5 channel with an aux so I can turn self-level on and off. I'll probably be looking to do photography, and maybe fpv at some point in the future, but not yet.
I'm flying in a wide-open rural area and wouldn't be a bother to anybody, so would like to be able to fly it a long way over the valley.
Cheers,
Stuart
