A GPS drone won't (usually) fly away if you take your right hand off the stick to operate the left.

I would think a full GPS drone would be best. Depends on how useless your left is. The left is used just for ascending, descending and rotating. Most of the work is done with the right.

Yup. No video of turbulent clouds passing different ways. Just a few miles west of there, the storm had heavy rotation and funnel clouds, but it fell apart (thankfully) before it got here, south of Coweta Oklahoma.
