The flight controller board handles those things. Not sure what you mean by esc being plugged in to receiver. For a quad to fly it needs a flight controller, power board, controller receiver, video transmitter and camera, (hooked directly together or with the FC in between) and esc boards...

Those odds weren't high. I was looking that way for pretty much just the length of time it took to happen. 5 seconds either way and wouldnt have seen it. I didnt see it during the original flight but I was looking for dark trees hiding from me.

A rash of butt rash is sweeping the area. the cause is yet to be determined. but one affected local was reported saying "Im telling you a big headed spaceman diddled my butt"but, he's been know to drink and sit on whack a mole tables, so........
