    Servo Setup

How are you connected to the 4-in-1 ESC? It doesn't have to be motor 5, just any open motor will do.

    Servo Setup

Unfortunately this receiver doesn't support PWM. Easiest solution is to use a PWM receiver as your FC supports PWM. Best solution is probably to use PWM out on your FC. So the flight controller should be connected to your reciever through CPPM or S-BUS. Map that channel to control a...

"No Drone Policy" Over Marriott Newport Coast Resort

While maybe they can't stop you from flying over, they can stop you from piloting within. With hotels and other businesses many things in contracts or agreements are unenforceable, usually the company who put that in there will know but not care as it will stop over 99% of people from doing...

When I push my right thumstick to the left my drone flys to the right.

You can reverse yaw in the receiver settings or flip it in your radio, if your radio supports that.

First Quad DIY build considering T4 quadcopter

Gotta be careful with PLA. Before I knew just how heat resistant it was, I had printed some frame parts for a quadcopter as it felt stiffer than some ABS parts. Got in the hot car and drove over to the field to test and the parts were floppy like wet noodles. Just from the hot car...

First Quad DIY build considering T4 quadcopter

When you get s chance I'd shorten the wire now that you know the build will work and then remove those crimp connectors. You can grab a 12$ weller soldering iron, some 60/40 and flux. The problem with these is that the current going through them can cause them to corrode and they might even...

First Quad DIY build considering T4 quadcopter

The video looks fairly good. If your controller supports it be sure to lower the rates. This will get you more comfortable with constant correction rather than a bunch of choppy corrections. Most new fliers do the choppy corrections. Lowering the amount of stick input you have will...

First Quad DIY build considering T4 quadcopter

I've done test on prop height to see if it affects stability and determined that it might cause a little pendulum effect when a more drastic difference is present. Other than that it wasn't anything too bad. That 1/4'' shouldn't be very noticeable. Sadly my video from these test is back in...

    FPV range

Antennas are a lot more important than most people give them credit. I'd grab some polarized antennas if you are in an area where signal multipathing could be an issue. If you had diversity then directional antennas would be a great addition.

    Regarding Site Authentication

HTTPS won't stop you from being scammed. Anyone can setup a site with TLS. It does however protect you from other people who are between you and the server from seeing the content of webpages that you're browsing. When buying it does have a Paypal option, and that Paypal option actually...

I Modified my Phantom 3 to Launch Rockets

Awesome build. If you were worried about weight, there are servo/PWM switches that could work and eliminate the need for the servo and switch. You could also probably do it all with a lighter battery. Interesting build nevertheless. Can't wait to see the improvements!

    Airspace (US)

There is a difference between towered and non-towered airports. I'd look back through your part 107 paperwork. I generally don't get permission for non-towered airports, however I usually only fly around an airport managed by the city (with permission) and around an Air Force base where I...

    Building Micros

You'd be surprised with the ability of an average middle school student. If they have the desire to learn you can teach them to solder pretty easily. They seem to pick it up pretty fast. Whether you are allowed will depend on the school's policy with letting them solder.

Found a stray, can I keep it??

I only hear about all the cool things in Ohio after I leave :P When someone ask about cool things back in Ohio my response is usually something like: "We uhhh have corn, and some mini-cities with nothing but more corn between them" If you could get the people in your area interested then it...

Sure, just post a thread describing your issue and then reply here with the link. Makes it easier to follow along and gives others the opportunity to help. My first guess would be that it is related to your BEC or maybe you don't have a BEC(usually built into the ESCs or power...

    Rotor direction

Reverse yaw in the motor mixer and motor directions so that your props are producing upward thrust. You can also just reverse motor direction and reverse the yaw channel on your controller. I've done this to maiden after I wired all my motors wrong :D
