    Color-Contrasting Propellers

I was able to locate replacement props for my particular quad but they are all white. There have to be black ones - see my avatar; that's my quad. Note the two black props. I'll keep looking. Google is pretty amazing. Thanks so much for your comments here.

    I'm officially "that guy".

But seriously - I know what you are saying, but is there any harm in calibration prior to every flight?

Spotting led's on the fcb. Simonk had no beeps like blheli did. Adding a buzzer to the feb. 6channel Tx. Needed a firmware flash to get 18 channels on the ibus. Found blheli. Got it! ;)

    Difficulty hovering outdoors

Thanks. How are props measured? By the length of the blade? Some other method? How about screwing the prop into the prop receptacle - are all props, regardless of size - standard when it comes to the size of the "screw-in" screw (for want of a better term)?

A VERY Basic Question About Batteries

I did a little Googling and got the answer. I think I will be able to get a replacement battery online, without having to deal with the manufacturer. And the battery is the sleeve I was referring to - no need to mess with individual cells. Thanks for responding!

    Color-Contrasting Propellers

Color Contrasting Propellers - how do I get them? I know, I know .... Internet. But what about size? How do I know that the propellers I buy will fit onto my particular quad? Do I measure the length of my present propellers and order by that measurement? If so, how do I know that even...

    Difficulty hovering outdoors

Thank you. Think I'll go online and pick up a couple. When the quad gets far away, it is hard to tell how it's oriented just by looking at the little green lights. Colored props on the rear should make it easier.

    Difficulty hovering outdoors

Where can I get contrasting colored props? Aren't props quad specific? Am I going to have to go back to the manufacturer?

    the thread of fun

Maybe fly it outside? On grass? In an open space with plenty of free-fly room?

Be sure to calibrate your quad before each takeoff. Mine was going wild on takeoff until Rick pointed out that you must calibrate after each time you crash it (which I of course was doing on each attempted flight). Once I began calibrating prior to each takeoff, things got a lot better very...

A VERY Basic Question About Batteries

I have a 5-cell battery. The cells are all contained in a plastic sleeve that slides into the quad when I am going to go fly it. Obviously, the plastic sleeve is custom-designed for my particular quad. What happens when my battery loses its juice, i.e., when it is about to expire? What do I...

    SUCCESS!!!

What about charging the battery? Can you overcharge it? Is it bad to go off and leave it for six or seven hours while it is charging? How long does it take one of these batteries to charge up?

    SUCCESS!!!

Maybe I misspoke. I didn't run the battery totally dead. However, I have been discharging it fully when I get it home by just leaving the quad on overnight. Don't do that, hey? OK. How do you know when you have it down to a certain level?

    SUCCESS!!!

Well, after two weekends of Too Darn Hart to fly, I was able to go out today. SUCCESS!!! For the first time, I was able to get her up and KEEP her up. In fact, I flew out the battery in two flights. How's that? Couple of things - first off, I calibrated the sucker before each takeoff...

Taking Off on Take Off - Not Hovering

Yup. I'm still working, however, so I have to wait until the weekend, but when it arrives, I'll be out there.

Taking Off on Take Off - Not Hovering

That's right - I had forgotten. Once you arm it, the lights stop blinking. Thanks.
