Stanford undergraduates learn to make delivery drones - Stanford University News

My guess is that they will be equipped with IoT devices to transmit telemetry and potentially pics/video back to the mothership (cloud) allowing the company to have at least some information on vandals and thieves.

Let's Try Food & Drink now!

I eat all the foods, but like Droner, I'm partial to the spicier ones. When I drank, I would drink all the porters and stouts, maybe the odd red wine.

    UAV Futures inspired $99 build

Oh, I'll bet. My 300 mark was still trying to stay reasonably cheap.

Lipo`s how to charge and look after

I felt a little silly putting my 4 little 3.7/750 in an ammo can, but I did it anyway - if only to start a good habit before I get more and bigger batteries.

Had New Quad For 15 Days, But.....

Similar thing happened to me when my first one showed up. Got to fly outside for a few minutes before it started raining then super windy for over week. Oh well, I got to practice flying inside - not as good, but at least I flying. Also - beautiful view from your neighborhood!

    UAV Futures inspired $99 build

This kept happening to me when I started planning from UAVFuture's $170 build. By the time I made a tweak here, a tweak there, and added a battery, I was north of $300. With my recent direction change into the whoop size, they are closer to $100, but I already have 1 on the way, another I will...

    Spork's Journey

This is a great strategy. I think it's because it's so similar to how they'll come home from shopping and tell us how much money they "saved". Good luck with getting the FPV goggles.

A little add on to aid in orientation :)

Thanks Jackson. Now I've watched like 20 Benedikt videos - I found him very annoying at first, but he grows on you.

    Winter flying problems!

I am not a physicist, but if your X5 is anything like me, it probably wants to sit by the fireplace instead of being outside in the cold.

    Spork's Journey

Thanks, yeah - I'm hoping it will be a lot of fun. I'll look into the batteries, but the kit I got comes with 5 - so well see how we go with those first. So many quads in the size range. I've seen reviews for all three of those and all sound promising. Thanks.

    Spork's Journey

I will definitely post my thoughts on the little critter and how well it works. Yeah, I may keep her around for a bit ;)

    Spork's Journey

Yeah - Ive seen some of his speed test videos. That is one job that I do not want. Funny stuff, though.

    Company review question

You could plug it into your computer and fly simulators (Liftoff, FPV Freerider, etc) until you are ready to fly. I'm told that the practice on the simulators isn't an exact carryover, but it is close enough to practice developing muscle memory. I'll know the truth soon enough, but flying in the...

    Spork's Journey

Quick update: So I got around to shopping for a tiny critter (whoop-sized) and ended up going with the KingKong Tiny 6 65mm Micro FPV. @Jackson had posted a link about this one awhile ago and after checking out a couple other reviews - the deal was sealed. I also ordered the Eachine TX01 to mod...

    Company review question

I got my Taranis from GetFPV a few weeks ago. Competitive price and reasonably fast shipping. I think I ordered it on a Thursday evening and had it in my hands Monday afternoon. Not Amazon fast mind you, but for $20 savings I can wait an extra day or two.

    UAV Futures inspired $99 build

Nice Roger. I love UAV Futures, although his cheeriness can get a touch annoying, he has tons of great content. Looking forward to following along on your build.

Exactly. You had to be a LOT more compact and efficient.

Need to upgrade my PC... on the cheap

I can imagine their thoughts even just a few years later. My first computer was a Radio Shack Color Computer - used a TV screen as the monitor. Mine came on Christmas morning with 16KB of RAM. But apparently, Santa said he brought the wrong one and after the exchange I had a whopping 32KB! I...
