Interesting doc on the 2018 UK specific changes and hits at the new legal position from Nov ish 2019

First indoor hovering. Big step up from my toy drone, but she felt very controllable.
Calm on low revs, bit like me VFR but your can feel there is more to give. As I improve I think this drone will be even more fun. Best £49 I have spent in a while.
To be fair it is stated within the section “
Rules for flying model aircraft powered by combustible fuel”
But it does seem sensible given the speeds.

Update:
Been reading further and found this on an insurance site...
Hi to UK members,
My local council seems relaxed about where I can fly but does require insurance cover.
May I ask if any of the UK members recommend any drone insurance policies?
Thank you
Roger.
Welcome to the group. Friendly crowd, I am newish here starting with a toy quad and just buying my Bug3. The attraction was the low tech to match my toy quad, but primarily drive with my wish to try some aerial photography.
I also live near an airport so also limited so far. Surprised you...
Thanks Jackson, that is good news and gives me two more batteries. All I have to do now is master my beast of a charging contraption. Then easier job to solder up XT60 to XT30 connectors.
Not got that far yet. The one it comes with will get me going. Only considering these as they are sat on the bench from a stalled build.
These are 3 cell 11.1v compared to 7.4v of the stock battery.
My Bugs 3 arrived on Christmas Eve.
Battery is now on charge, 1st flight planned for Saturday.
I have a couple of Turnigy 1.8mah batteries that look like they may fit with a plug adaptor. Any thoughts please?
Roger
Thanks for the feedback.
Re point 5 I assumed it was a concern based on your initial post re cops and Dodge. But I guess that was authors dramatic licence
@BL Swagger I thought it looked good hence the share.
@Jackson fair point which would mean multiple flights having adjusted the camera. Unless the legs could be extended.
The thought of crashing a plastic drone also concerned me. However lots of cheap spares are available.
Not rushing off to...
Watched a review on this today. Seems like a lot of drone for the money.

I started out looking for a drone with longer legs to...
@pdmike Cracking video.
Presumably once it is in circle mode you then started working the gimbal controls?
Why not email a an edit to the head of city hall and offer to shoot some more footage for their website. Do you get tourists there it looks good enough?
Is that a phantom you are using...
Hi @mozquito1 distracted for the last few weeks but H33 will fly this weekend. I have 3 of the four motors soldered on the 250 but no further progress. Currently waiting for the postman again for a toy hex...
Still enjoying getting to grips with basic flight controls. Great drone to start on cheap as chips and easy to get going with. Having two batteries is a bonus for that extra bit of flight time. Although to be fair my concentration limit initially only needed one battery
