Until you meter them you'll never know, fully charged they should be at or near 4.2V.

I have a quad that I can connect the battery the wrong away (don't ask). That's pretty much what it did.

Sounds like a motor polarity problem.

If this is the one look elsewhere, it has cheap, limited life brushed motors. Find something that uses brushless motors.

Not standard, all plastic. And the shafts are too short to put on normal props.

I gotta say I'm a bit concerned about the non-standard plastic threaded prop shafts.
