From google search, the JJRC "official" video is shown using Enjoy-Fly app. Also I found a few complaints about problems similar to yours. I am not able to assist you further as I do not own a X12. Sorry. Perhaps, at the last resort, can you return the drone for refund?

What app you downloaded for your X12? If you are not using C-Fly app, try it from Google Play Store.
